Why Curtis Martin will not run over the Skins

This is simply my opinion... but I believe our corners can easilyshut down the Jets WR's. Moss is probably the best and we all know what Champ will do to him. Im also certain Smoot can handle Conway. A good hit or two from Bowen should make them all rethink coming over the middle.

With that said, we will have the advantage of stacking the box against Martin... sure, our interior line is suspect... but this should still work to our advantage.

I think the main part of this game is our LB's getting pressure on Vinny. I think he may play well in this game... so it is a definite that we need to rattle him early... take away his weapons... and clog up the running lanes.

Not to mention it won't be hard to stop C. Martin after he limbs off the field in the first quarter. Not that I want that to happen, but it will and I can't control what LaVar does and does not do.

I hope the Jets didn't watch the tapes from the 1st home game of last season against Philly. Philly totally neutrolized our linebackers in that game. McCants explained to me after that game what they had done but it was in NFL jargon.

I think Moss will be playing in the slot position. I don't know if Champ will be chasing him around.

I agree with SKins about most of that. But the Jets and old man vinny will not be afraid to use the middle on short routes and exploit the fact that our LB's will have to crowd the box. Martin won't break any big ones...but 4-5 yards a carry times 2-3 carries equals a first down.
I'm just hoping we are underestimating our defensive line! I'm just looking for average and let the LB's and secondary clean up the rest.

look for the LB's to be covering run stopping and safety's to be doing coverage on WR's. The Skins no that the Jets are sure to run so by using the LB's as DT's they can force Vinny to go to the air. BTW. Anyone who thinks LaVar is going to sit back and not rush Vinny is stupid. It's gonna be LaVar and Smith blitzing the QB while the rest of the DL and LB corp focuses on stopping the run.
