Yeah Baby, 1-0 on season.

The NFL has to be very happy with the game tonight. What a way to open the season with a close game that went down to the final ticks on the clock. From the stadium we saw Brittany's concert. She was booed because she picked the Jets.

Anyway, Fedex was filled with celebrities tonight. I ran into Joe Namath, Spike Lee and Ari Fletcher. Not to mention others that were in attendance as well.

Ramsey won this game for us with his run. They say Ramsey isn't mobile, well he did some running on that play. And how smart was it of him to slide before going out of bounds to keep the clock moving. I'm not sure if they show his celebration before the field goal team took the field, but he was very excited.

Speaking of ST, Hall is awesome (right now). I'm sure he enjoyed providing the win.

The offense looked pretty good. The oline needs to play better but they'll only improve over time. Coles is a beast and he's already worth what we paid for him. Trung did okay but needs to follow his blockers better. I thougth Betts had down right good game.

The defense was awesome. We only gave up a tota of something like 158 yards. I'll take that anyday. Arrington was all over the place and Trotter's stop on 3rd and 1 was great.

I saw something from this team that I haven't seen in awhile. Resilience and passion. I thougt the back to back penalties with 5:58 left would kill us but it didn't. The defense was put into some bad situations but prevailed.

Special Teams. Did I mention Hall. We need better punts. We only averaged 30 yards and that's not good enough. I realize he was trying to place the kick on most of te punts so I don't complety blame him

All in all it was a good showing by us. We still have problems that need correcting but I feel they'll get taken care of.

As you can tell, I'm drunk but it's worth it. Just celebrating a win. I met RedskinsDave tonight and that was great. If anyone else goes to a game, please drop by the band to sawy hello.

Well, I'm seeing doubles now, so I need to go to bed.

Hail To The Redskins

Good recap. As far as the RB's go, I think Trung will get another week as the starter. He looked to me as if he was trying to break the big one on every carry. I think he really wants to prove some people wrong, and that can be a powerful motivator.

Ladell Betts is a legitimate every down back. He looks like he lived in the weight room this off season. He was a good back at Iowa, but he looked nothing like this. I think the right decision was made to let Watson go. What we saw tonight is a clear example of the potential that was seen in Betts during last season and this PS.

Arrington looks at home in this scheme. He was everywhere. His best play, IMO, was the tackle on Martin on 2nd and 1, just before Trotter stuffed Jordan on 3rd and 1. Most OLB's don't make that tackle until the RB has gained some yards. A happy LaVar is going to be a productive LaVar.

The DT's were admirable. As Chase and Dalton get their legs under them and more comfortable with the scheme, the whole unit will improve.

Hall looked solid, something we haven't been able to say in the past 6 years about our kickers.

And finally, Ramsey. I can't recall ever seeing a better half of football by a Redskin QB in my short lifetime. His only incompletion should have been a completion as well.

A great start to what is hopefully a great season.

Good synopsis's guys. I'll echo the point about a resilient effort after sloppy plays midway through the 4th. This was the perfect was to start a season for a young ballclub. Winning dramatically in the clutch breeds so much confidence. We all know those weren't the TB Bucs we played last night, but hey, that was a playoff team a year ago that didn't turn the ball over at all and had only one penalty. The Skins also looked sound and disciplined, for the most part, but we also have playmakers on both sides of the ball to change the course of the game. Lavar and Trotter hammering Martin on two consecutive plays in the 4th had me in midseason fist pumping form. Good things may follow from such a win.

Not sure I agree with this one Hail... this was a Jets offense that lost most of their playmakers... fronted by a man one step from the nursing home. Our D did a great job at shutting down the run and Martin... but to only allow 158 yards isnt as good as it would be like say against the Bills... the Jets lacked so much in my opinion.

A good team would have roasted us last night.

Yes thats the great thing about this win, I feel this team can only get better as the season goes on and they play as a team more. Alot of the guys on Offense and Def played there first game together.

I am sure we all can remember a time when Lamont and Curtis would have ran all over us. so I say good job defense.

Agreed. Trung and Rock have to learn to block.

Linebackers are the strength of this defense and they proved it last night.

It's been awhile? Roster turnover is sometimes a good thing and we need a good dose guys that never were part of that Norval era where the team played like robots, no passion, and quitter type attitude.

I understand the feeling :D

i want to start of by saying that im SO glad that this game is over and we won. now we dont have to talk about the jets and the jets dont have to talk about the redskins. overall, it was great to start the season off with a W against a good team. the redskins clearly outplayed the jets although we made more mistakes. it wasnt the blow out i was looking for but a win is a win.

Postives:
-ramsey looked really great in the first half and showed why we fans are so excited about him being the qb. although he didnt do as well in the 2nd half, he made the plays we needed to win the game. :D

-the defense really looked good after settling down. we only gave up like 57 yds rushing against a very good running team. i didnt hear champ's name called all game, which is always a good thing.

-betts should be the starter like i said! he looked quick and shifty and could be a 1,000yd+ guy if was the clear cut starter.

-coles showed why snyder gassed up the jet (no pun intended) for him. the guy was killing the jets in the first half, but the jets shut him down in the 2nd.

-we ran the ball!! the jets couldnt stop and spurrier knew it. if he keeps calling balanced games, we'll we in good shape this season.

-ladies and gentlemen, do we finally have our kicker??!! hall saved the day and i hope he stays that consistent all year long

Negatives
-the oline still has some work to do....but that is to be expected. we definitely have talented guys but they need more time together. fiore was lost on a few plays.

-we had no pass rush last night. i noticed that we didnt blitz much, i wonder why?

-the offense cant start off fast and then slow down in the 2nd half. we did that too much last year. more consistency please fellas...
