Wow -- they keep getting better. When did Boulware become expendable for the Hawks?

TEXANS TRADE BABIN TO SEAHAWKS FOR BOULWARE by Michael David Smith

John McClain of the Houston Chronicle reports that the Texans have traded defensive end Jason Babin to the Seahawks for safety Michael Boulware.

Per McClain, the Texans became desperate for safety help today when rookie Brandon Harrison suffered a severely pulled hamstring in practice. He could wind up on injured reserve.

The Texans also lost Glenn Earl to a training camp injury, and starters C.C. Brown and Jason Simmons are both playing with bruised shoulders.

Babin was a 2004 first-round pick out of Western Michigan who led the Texans with five sacks last season. Boulware was a 2004 second-round pick out of Florida State who started eight games last year for the Seahawks.

While I like Boulware too how old is he? I also like Babin, who has real upside. Sounds like both sides will profit from this trade.

The seahawks were gonna use Boulware as a nickelback and the Texans Babin as a maybe 4th DE they both got rid of someone who didn't work out for them

I always thought Boulware was a good player.

He's pretty poor at man coverage not Archeluta bad but close, he occasionally makes a play in zone but he doesn't have the range needed, he was a linebacker in college.
