I've seen several different plays similar to this one. I wonder how the other teams coach felt about it after the game? lol

Sorry but I would be PO's at this, I see it basically as cheating. Especially at that age where most of the kids are just learning the game, this is pathetic and shame on the coach for using tricks to score....you stink! Just my opinion folks...

I thought it was hilarious but it does cause issues with gamesmanship

Actually the opposing team learned a valuable lesson. That once a snap happens you need to tackle the ball carrier period.

When I was playing HS football the center of the opposing team actually snapped the ball on the wrong count. In the middle of his snapping motion the slowly stood up and said an expletive, the QB looked at the ball in his hands then at the refs then at us who were playing defense and standing around mystified waiting for the false start call. Well the Qb ran ahead for twenty yards before we tackled him and realized the refs never blew the whistle.

I wish I learned that lesson earlier because I got an earful from my coach on the sideline after the play because he ran right by me lol

It's not a joke, I've seen variations of this play done a few times. It's cheap but if you can exploit another team's lack of attention and fundamentals, then why not?

AT AGE 10? No, not at this age, these kids haven't learned enough of the fundamentals to exploit...just down right bad sportsmanship if you ask me...

I can see AGG's point of view. That's why I asked previously how the opposing coach felt after the game. They do meet in the middle of the field to shake hands.

With that said, I found it to be very funny.

I'd love to know the score at the time of this trick play. If the team on offense was getting their butts kicked up and down the field and this play was called then I could stomach it more than if the team who ran this play was already up by a few TDs. I'd hate to see a team use trickery to increase the score to 45-0. Get my drift?

That play if they are using the National Federation of State High School Associations rules, (which most youth league do) is illegal and should have been stopped immediately. It is a question of gaining an unfair advantage, sportsmanship, and safety. If you noticed the defenders just stood there. What if some of the offensive players decided to deck an unsuspecting player? I officiate HS ball in Va and this play has been talked about and shown in numerous clinics.

There was no snap. Snap has to be quickly and in a continuos motion according to NFHS ruels.
