Sure.... I liked the White on White. It almost made us look a little flashy and polished.
In all honesty I don't care how we dress as long as we win the game!

Not as good as the unis we used last year, but I liked them.

I was excited to hear that they might do a game or two in all burgundy. That would be sweet...espcially if they pulled out the retros.

I didn't care for it. It wasn't bad...but to me the Redskins are burgandy...and there was very little on their uniform that reflected that.

Put me in the "NO" column. I didn't like it. White shirt-Dark pants or Dark shirt-White pants. I'm old school that way (and many others).

Are we not the "Burgundy and Gold" - and BTW was it me or my tv -did the helmets look a little darker than usual?

I liked it.

Like jsarno said, it's not that it looked bad, it's just I like the Burgandy Jerseys better, even with the ...ugh, white pants...never have liked the White pants.

I don't care much for flair when it comes to uniforms. For example, the Broncos and Bills have horrible uniforms. As far as our unis go, I think we could stand to lose the stripes on top of the helmet. Simplicity in uniforms is the way to go, IMO. Come to the arena like a gladiator, not like a runway model.

The rules are, dark jerseys at home and white jerseys on the road. For all of Turner's tenure, the only way we could see our beloved Redskins in thier "red" skins was to go to an away game. I don't care what the players want, when I spend my good money on a home game, I want to see my team in "home" colors.

Welcome to hR roberro.
Having said that, I have to ask where in the "rule" book did you find this? Also, if it is indeed a rule, why are the Skins, Cowboys and Panthers to name a few allowed to break it every year?

I always thought it was supposed to be white jerseys at home and colored on the road, but that was only a technicality and a lot of teams decided to go the other way.

Welcome to hR roberro, glad you joined our family. I think teams can do as they see fit. I believe that used to be someone of a rule awhile back.

It may not have been a writen "rule", but about 20-25 years ago, the league asked the teams to break with tradition, and wear white jersys at home so the fans of the home team could see the visiting team's "home" colors. The Redskins were one of only a handfull of teams that complied with this request. Consequently, we didn't see the burgundy jerseys for a number of seasons. I repeat, during Turner's years, all home games were in white jerseys, and, now that I think about it so were Schottenhiemer's. I was so pleased last season to have the home games in Burgundy, I almost liked Spurrier. If we are going to suit up in white, then we ought to satisfy the Indians and rename the team the WHITESKINS.

This is not entirely correct. Marty was the one to bring out Burgundy jerseys at home. Through the entire Pardee, Gibbs and Turner era, the Redskins wore white jerserys at home. Marty went to the Burgundy jerseys and of course last year we had the retros at 6 home games. We wore the white jerseys in the season opener against the Cardinals and the final against the Cowpokes.

i liked the white and white but, would make it better is if the jerseys had the indian patch on both side of the jerseys. i believe redskin fans like myself would buy them. also i could sport my jersey around town , because alot of people can;t tell the differance between a redskin jersery to a chief's jersery. don;t believe me just ask around. maybe we should all write to dan and ask him to put the indian patch on all jersey. who else thinks this is a good idea.

I have often thought about this, but I don't think it is necessary now that the team name is printed above the numbers on the front of the jersey.

The solution to that is easy. Tell them they need to pay attention more.:bsmile:

The W/W uniforms look good live - might loose something on TV. And they won in them - I say KEEP them. IN FACT - don't even wash them - LOL..... Hell, I don't even care if they wear Gold/Gold as long as we are winning.

I thought it was Home Teams Choice. We wear what we want and the team visiting wears the opposite..........

OK, guys, "UNCLE". I consulted my 1996, "Washington Redskins, the authorized history", (autographed by Terry Orr; are you impressed yet?) and Robert11273 appears to be right on as to the Pardee/Gibbs/Turner era. I'm still not convinced about Schottenhiemer, but then again, I seem to be suffering from CRS. At any rate, I still favor the burgundy jerseys. Robbie out, (for now).

I hated the white on white! It wasent REDskins is was more like the cheafs. I like white on Burgundy. But the old combo of burgundy jerseys and gold pants were cool. I love to see that.

Here is Lavar's rational for going white on white for the first time in franchise history.
As long as they stay with the burgundy socks and NOT the socks we wear with our burdundy pants, then we DO NOT look like the Chefs.
Lavar says! (http://www.redskins.com/story.asp?ContentID=11828)

The problem, as I see it, is that you guys have no sense of history or tradition. Our colors have always been Burgundy and Gold. I'll bet if you polled Sonny or Sam or Art or Riggo, or any number of Hall of Famers, they would all say no to W/W. Do you see the Raiders going to White? No! And we have been around a lot longer than them. Lets stick with our tradition. Hail Redskins

I would be willing to bet, playing at home next week and being 2-0 in the white on white, you will see it again against the Gints.
