I won't eat a lot on gameday, so for these early games I do a special, night before the game dinner. This week, it's grilled Mahi Mahi, basted in a Hawaiian teriyaki sauce.

I usually make my hotwings. But i only get to do this for the later games or the Monday night games.
I love Texas Pete hot sauce so i use that.
1. Mix all purpose flour/cornmeal/salt/pepper/cayenne pepper(dont use too much) in a bowl.
2. Add buttermilk/a little hot sauce in another bowl.
3. Dip wings into buttermilk then place into flour mixture
4. Either Pan fry or deep fry until golden brown.
5. Warm up some Texas Pete with some butter until butter is completely
melted. Mix hot sauce mixture and wings together.
Now enjoy.

Love the thread. Very guy stuff. But there are wives, girlfriends, etc. for those of us without tickets. This is healthful and, believe it or not good even for guys. It is based on a famous SF restaurant's dish.
Get 1# hamburger, one package frozen chopped spinach, one small can mushrooms (optional), and a small onion (this presumes you have eggs available).
1. Brown hamburger and chopped onion and drain most of the fat
2. Cook spinach according to package instructions (I microwave) and drain
3. Add spinach and mushroons (optional) to hamburger mix
Note. This can be preprepared and refrigerated - when ready reheat and continue
4. Whip two eggs and pour over mixture. Turn and chop up with a spatula to spread eggs through the mixture until eggs are done. Salt and pepper to taste individually.
Serve and enjoy (or serve to those who don't want sausages. I tend to take both.)

I agree on the brats, and your wings sound delicious. I like crab seasoning (although I'm partial to Phillips). If you venture further into the pork family in the future, here are a couple of options:
Pork tenderloin, marinated in a little olive oil and crab powder, grilled.
You can use the same marinade painted on ribs, too.

Dang i want a smoker. But the wife wont let me get one. ugh.
But i do make some good ribs. I normally put a dry rub(many different spices) on them, also i spice up a bullseye barbeque and baste the ribs while they are on the girll. Grill them for a few mins to give them a nice crust on both sides then i put them in the over on 250 degrees for a few hours. And they are fall off the bone, smack your momma good.

Grilled some fish that was ready just in time for KO. Seasoned it with some Old Bay Lemon Pepper and Garlic. A delicious way to start the season as the double helping came in overtime.
Next week I'll grill some wings with a fiery hot wing sauce and down it with sheephead.

This week is a big fat Rib Eye..Marinated in Water and salted tenderizer to soften it up and then ill put it on the grill and cook it to medium rare while adding Montreal steak seasoning and Lawrys Garlic salt and parsley mix...Also a big hunking potato (anyone seen these new ones you microwave in prepackaged shrink wrap they are great) lots of butter, Cheese, Ranch, and bacon bits. After halftime I'll probably have a drink or two of Jack and coke to hopefully savor a victory.

I was thinking about doing my hooterific hot wings but my wifes gotta eat too. Maybe I can talk her into it though so I'll include recipe...
1 bag of drummettes
dip the wings in whipped eggs and melted butter then bread with a flour/salt/pepper mix.
Deep fry for 8 minutes or until cooked
Immediately add them to the sauce (franks with 3 or 4 table spoons white vinegar and half a stick of melted butter).
Sprinkle salt on top and serve hot.

You have to have some wings. We make ours a with Texas Pete. Stick of butter to one cup of hot sauce, 6 tbs vinegar. Fry em, put them in the sauce for about 12 minutes then into the oven to crisp them up a bit.
Monday night menu from the wife and mom.
Hot wings, and I think some other appetizers
Five cheese penne pasta

Hmmm. This time, you will have to get creative.
May I suggest:
BBQ Red (Hot) Wings
Eggs Rock (city) efeller
Ice Cream with Jimmies (Hoffa)
The (Big) Three Cheese Omelette
(Auburn) Hillshire Farms Smoked Sausage

You got me there. Detroit isn't known for any particular beer or drink, that I can think of. (Although they were big into bootlegging during prohibition)
Maybe Foster's Oil Cans as a nod to the Automotive Industry?

I doubt that would be a popular choice with the ladies and personally, I think Fosters is just Aussie Budweiser.
I can't find anything pertaining to Detroit or the Lions, so I may just have to do something seasonal with a Halloween motif.

Maybe not for the ladies...but you may like RedHook's Late Harvest Autumn Ale (http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/153/28712/?ba=bros). You can find it in most supermarkets. Its a perfect brew for the cooler weather. (Assuming it won't be in the 80's on Sunday)

Nothing to do with Detroit but on my menu this week:
Last of the fresh-from-the-garden tomatoes to make some hearty chili - with heavy emphasis on the ground sirloin. Make this on Saturday cool over night and warm on the grill the next day. About 12:00 crank up the open side of the grill and do some sausages, brats, knockwurst. Ready for the game – sit down to some build your own chili dogs with plenty of onions, cheese, sweet peppers, and jalapenos. Of course we have to have fresh baked hd rolls. Beers on ice …………….. Man I’m READY!!!

This week is my italian taco salad (or maybe chilli depending on the weather)..
2 lbs hamburger browned, add 2 cans "rotel" undrained, 2 cans dark red kidney beans drained. Cover and simmer for 20 mins. Spread the burger mix over a bowl of tostitos rounds and cover them in shreded cheese( your favorite kind i like sargentos mexican mix). then drizzle italian dressing just enought to splash most of the chips then mix it a bit and repeat to taste. I know it sounds weird but it is an absolute crowd pleaser and a staple of tex mex cooking I picked up in texas.
Anyone got a good Chilli recipe in case it is cold and rainy?
