Who was your player of the game, against Miami today? I know there will be multiple candidates, but I try to only allow 5 options, not including "Other".

*C. Cooley: 1 Rec. | 10 Yards | Excellent blocking and a clutch catch in OT
*R. McIntosh: 11 Total Tackles (9 Solo) | 1 Sack | 1 FF
*C. Portis: 17 Carries | 98 Yards | 1 TD
*A. Randle El: 5 Recs. | 162 Yards
*S. Suisham: 3/3 FGs | 1/1 XP | GW 39 Yard FG in OT
*Other: Please specify who

And the winner is.......

Suisham.

Without him, everyone else's efforts are meaningless.

Clinton Portis!!!

suisham. we had a lot of trouble putting it in the end zone today and a long overtime fg seals the deal for mvp.

I gotta say Clinton Portis. Hard running all day (nearly 100 yards and over 5.0 ypc), our only TD and a great blocking effort. Clinton really showed up in OT as well. I've been dogging him during all of camp, but he really showed me something today.

I'm surprised I'm the only vote for Randle-El so far

Has ot be Randle El? Why? Because without his long reception, Portis would not have been in position to score, nor would we have been in FG range. Great game Antwaan!

I added one. ARE WAS our passing offense today. I also feel very strongly about McIntosh and Portis.

I voted for Randle El. He was the difference maker today when Moss was dropping balls, Cooley was blocking a lot MIA, and Lloyd was, well, Lloyd.

Way to help the young QB, El.

Actually a very difficult choice.

Went with Portis, though, just because it was so nice to see him back.

His performance should go a long way towards silencing a number of his newfound critics. Not the old critics, though. They're just haters. HATERS!!!

tough choice.. but my selection is HEYER

the kid doesnt even practice onthe right side all preseason, then one of the rocks of the o line goes down and other than one false start he is just about flawless. i dont care how much help they gave him, that was a tough defense he played against

he wasnt even drafted for goodness sakes, and yet we may have found our right tackle of the future, and the rest of the season

Other. Down goes Jansen, in comes Heyer who has played only on the left side, looks up and sees the reigning NFL DPOY, and stones him. If Heyer doesn't hold up the blow to morale at losing the Rock could have been fatal both short and long term.

I went with McIntosh -- he was all over the field making plays. Portis and ARE have good games too.

So nice to have choices!

While I thought all the candidates were worthy, I immediately thought of ARE. I thought he was just making great plays out there today. From the vantage point I had at the game, there were a lot of balls that looked uncatchable and yet, he came down with them!

Would have loved to have seen him break aways for a TD on KO though, if only to shut up the stupid Dolphin fan sitting beside me!

But props goes to Heyer, whom I have thought worthy since pre-season.

Suisham - Big pressure kick to win the game.

rocky was everywhere and caused a rare turnover for us. He's my pick.

Randle El definitely did his thing. I think he pretty much answered the question on who our #2 wide reciever is.

But I also liked how CP was running the rock. He looked good out there, like a man on a mission. He is by far with out question, our feature back. I'm just mad he didn't get atleast 1 or 2 more carries to put him over the 100 yard mark.

But Randle gets the nod for Offensive PLayer of the week.

I guess I'd have to go with number 52 Rocky on D player of the week. He was all over the place making tackles, and recorded a sack. He could do better in falling back in coverage, but in time he'll get better.

Not too sure what was going on with Smoot though, they were going straight at him. And he missed that interception that would have closed the deal.

Randal El really stepped up and proved that he can be a major contributor at WR2. I recall a poll done during training camp in which only 17% of HR members thought ARE should be the outright #2 opposite Moss. He proved a lot of people incorrect yesterday.

For me it was a toss up between Randle El and McIntosh. I went with Randle El. He was open all day long.

Randel El. Can't argue with that production. Also, I thought Campbell had a lot of time to throw today, and other than that one sack, the only real pressure was because of coverage. Heyer did an admirable job of filling in. One problem, now teams are going to single him out all game long. You know what Andy Reid is thinking. Lohmiller, I mean Suisham did a helluva job nailing 3 for 3. Defense was outstanding, and I think they would have been even better if the offense would have sustained more long drives. Good start to the year, 400 total yards of offense, and defense only giving up about 290 total yards for the game.

I don't know how anyone is not voting Suisham. Everyone mentioned is a great choice but jesus Suisham won the game for us and had ice water in his veins. A 40 yard FG in OT on opening day after two timeouts is not easy to do and he drilled it.

Suisham is the choice

Two of the worst categories for this team last year were creating turnovers and getting sacks. Rocky did both. He was all over the field, and had the commentators (Brian Mitchell, Ray Brown, [forgot the other guy's name]) in the Comcast postgame show questioning why he wasn't playing last year. He is leaps and bounds above the level of Highway 57. Great to see a draft pick live up to the FO's expectations.

**great point..I went around and round with Daghada..saying the number 5 that Baltimore gave up in the supplemental to get their own Maryland Tackle..was a no brainer the Skins should have had both of them**
__________________________________________________ _
I voted for other too..but I think London Fletcher's 12 tackles along with Sushi's kicks had the most impact ..he made it easy for Rocky to look good

They mark the two biggest differences in the team over last year..because Jason to me looked like a guy with 8 starts under his belt..

the Redskins should have made the playoffs..last season with all of the issues...if they only had him as a kicker earlier in the year..

For me it comes down to Squishy and Portis... I went with Squishy b/c the FGs he hit weren't chip shots and all the kicks he nailed gave us the lead.

Our defense won the game for us and the best player on D was Rocky McIntosh. 9 tackles with a sack and FF was a huge effort - especially since we have not forced a lot of turnovers or sacks recently. I would give him the MVP. It was great to see Randle El and Portis have solid games and it appears we finally have a confident kicker with a big boot on kickoffs. If the other playmakers on offense can make an impact, we are going to have a good year.

Heyer should get alot of credit for doing a good job at a position he's never played at.
I thought the oLine really picked it up in the second half and did a pretty decent job against a stout defensive front.
Suisham made the clutch game winner so he should get consideration.
But, Randle El had a career game. So, he's got to get the nod.

Noted. I had my doubts. I didn't think he'd be able to be a good #2.

But, it'll take more than one game to prove his worth.

However, he played his arse off yesturday that's for sure.

Agreed for obvious reasons. Sweeshy didn't get the nod because he's expected to make those kicks. None of them were super-long and his kickoffs were just okay.

Portis, no pre-season snaps and a huge game, 5.8 per carry. Look at what the other RB's who had no carries in pre-season did. LT, Steven Jackson, and LJ, not nearly as productive as my dog Clinton!

I have to give the game ball to Randel El. Suisham came through with the field goals, but Randel El set up two scores with his long receptions. Not to mention almost ending the game on the hail mary play.

Keino

Portis. 5.7 YPG 2 yards shy of 100 yards and our only TD.

In addition, it was Portis (and Betts) that took over in O.T.

Randel-el is a close 2nd, but those catches were on beautifully placed balls, and the Hail Mary was fluke, which added about 40 yards to his total.

None that long? lol A 40 yarder is pretty long. In OT none the less.

You say that's his job. Well, isn't it Portis job to run and score TDs? Isn't it ARE job to catch the ball when thrown to him?

I never thought i'd see the day when Redskin fans would take a place kicker for granted. :)
