View Full Version : WELL, I WAS ACTUALLY AT THE JETS GAME, AND....

WAS IT JUST ME, OR:
* Is Ladell Betts much "quicker" than last year and is starting to have the 'potential' of being a stud running back?
* Was Fed-Ex field much louder than normal???
* Was the "tail-gating" area much more lively and were there TONS of tailgaters at last nights game?
* Is Patrick Ramsey looking like a "seasoned pro?"
* Were there FOUR or FIVE #56's running around (at the same time last night on D) with the name "Arrington" on the back?
* Is our D actually better (out of the gate) than last years D?
* Is Steve Spurrier actually "getting it?" Did he call a genius of a game, or is it just me?
* Was Coles everywhere beating his man badly?
* Were there some fine women at the game last night? Sorry guys. Had to throw that one in!!!!
* Was Jerimiah Trotter STUFFING EVERYTHING?
* Did we actually have a LB covering their #3 reciever all night (backed up by a weak-side safety)?
* Was Matt Bowen the "unsung/un-noticed" hero last night?
* If David Terrell acually was our starting S, would we have lost the game?
* Did the Refs blow the whistle "early" on the Vinny Sack (that WAS A FUMBLE)??
* With Coles gathering the attention that he is, is Gardner going to have a MONSTER season?
* Would we have been MORE dangerous if Taylor Jacobs would have been healthy?
* Is Robert Royal the Answer and Zeron Flemister his (soon 2 be) back-up.
* Did we never get tired of the Redskins band striking up...."Hail to the Redskins?"
* Are you even more proud (if that is possible) to be a Redskins fan.
* Did those lighted torches surrounding the Stadium look really cool at night?
* Should there be a METRO stop RIGHT at Fed-Ex Field??
* Was last night (with national t.v., the Jets intrigue, etc.) an especially electric atmosphere.
Somebody please tell me.............WAS IT JUST ME??????????;)

Nah, you're right on it. The crowd was awesome last night and I haven't seen it like that there since the playoff game against the Lions. I expected to see more Jet's fans than I did but it's a good thing I didn't. The tailgating was awesome as well. We didn't end our tailgate until about 3am. The ESPN boot was in the parking lot which added excitement as well. Arrington was a beast yesterday. He seems to be wearing his shoulder pads a little higher so more of his arm is exposed. I believe it helps him with his tackling. Don't expect a metro stop at the stadium, I don't see it happening.

Does Skinsfan use too many "quotation marks"? Should he "cut down" on how often he puts them in sentences?

Was the stadium Loud? I had to watch the game on ABC. As the Redskin starting line up was announced, you could not here Al Michaels over the crowd noise, and he was up in the booth! NOW THATS LOUD!!:)

Ok, here is my opinion since you seem to have a few questions...:D
* Is Ladell Betts much "quicker" than last year and is starting to have the 'potential' of being a stud running back? yes
* Was Fed-Ex field much louder than normal??? yes
* Was the "tail-gating" area much more lively and were there TONS of tailgaters at last nights game? I couldnt see the parking lot from here
* Is Patrick Ramsey looking like a "seasoned pro?"not yet
* Were there FOUR or FIVE #56's running around (at the same time last night on D) with the name "Arrington" on the back?seemed that way
* Is our D actually better (out of the gate) than last years D?not on the first drive
* Is Steve Spurrier actually "getting it?" Did he call a genius of a game, or is it just me?not when the clock was running down in the first half
* Was Coles everywhere beating his man badly?hell yes
* Were there some fine women at the game last night? Sorry guys. Had to throw that one in!!!!if so, they didnt live in PG county
* Was Jerimiah Trotter STUFFING EVERYTHING?yes
* Did we actually have a LB covering their #3 reciever all night (backed up by a weak-side safety)?didnt notice that
* Was Matt Bowen the "unsung/un-noticed" hero last night?one of a few
* If David Terrell acually was our starting S, would we have lost the game?only if he started at K
* Did the Refs blow the whistle "early" on the Vinny Sack (that WAS A FUMBLE)??no, clear as day
* With Coles gathering the attention that he is, is Gardner going to have a MONSTER season?tough one, I think he will have less receptions then last year while Coles could get 80+
* Would we have been MORE dangerous if Taylor Jacobs would have been healthy?another tough one, not sure if SS had to change the game plan, probably not
* Is Robert Royal the Answer and Zeron Flemister his (soon 2 be) back-up.looks that way so far
* Did we never get tired of the Redskins band striking up...."Hail to the Redskins?"I couldnt hear it, I think networks have lowered the audio when it plays in recent years
* Are you even more proud (if that is possible) to be a Redskins fan.not possible, meter is pegged
* Did those lighted torches surrounding the Stadium look really cool at night?didnt see 'em
* Should there be a METRO stop RIGHT at Fed-Ex Field??sure
* Was last night (with national t.v., the Jets intrigue, etc.) an especially electric atmosphere.without a doubt

Vinny definitely fumbled and the ref blew that call. How do you say it is clear as day the other way? The ball was out of his hands before his knees hit the ground.....
i heard the band and I believe Madden even gave some creds to the Band. Lord almighty how I love that song.

No i saw that play... He was clearly down before ball was out...
I was glad because we would have lost a time out...

he was about an inch off the ground when the ball came out. It was really close, but it was a fumble.

More so than being down, he was "in the grasp", a rule to protect QB's. When Wynn got him, Testaverde wasn't going anywhere, which is why I feel Smith got a gift with that .5 sack.

Vinny definitely lost the ball before his knees hit the ground. That was really clear on the replays.
Not sure about this "in the grasp" rule, but I've never seen a fumble overrules before because a quarterback was wrapped up but hadn't hit the ground yet....

he wasnt down, PERIOD. so if he had maraculously shoveled the pass to a RB and the RB ran it for a TD, would they have called that back?? i dont think so.

I was there as well and
* Is Ladell Betts much "quicker" than last year and is starting to have the 'potential' of being a stud running back?
-Yes
* Was Fed-Ex field much louder than normal???
- Yes not only louder but there were a lot more people there
* Was the "tail-gating" area much more lively and were there TONS of tailgaters at last nights game? -Yes
* Is Patrick Ramsey looking like a "seasoned pro?"
- In the first half yes in the second half no he wasn't great.
* Were there FOUR or FIVE #56's running around (at the same time last night on D) with the name "Arrington" on the back? He was just all over the place last night
Is our D actually better (out of the gate) than last years D?
-I think so. Although last year we got more Turn overs and had worse field position so tought to say right now
* Is Steve Spurrier actually "getting it?" Did he call a genius of a game, or is it just me?
-Yes so different that last year, but lets not forget that in week one last year we had a lot of running plays called and davis had over 100 yards
* Was Coles everywhere beating his man badly?
-Yes he was all over the place in the first half
* Were there some fine women at the game last night? Sorry guys. Had to throw that one in!!!!
-yes yes there were
* Was Jerimiah Trotter STUFFING EVERYTHING?
-Yes he didn't look to be suffering ill effects from his Torn ACL
* Did we actually have a LB covering their #3 reciever all night (backed up by a weak-side safety)?
-Yes I noticed that was well
* Was Matt Bowen the "unsung/un-noticed" hero last night?
-Yes he had a really good game.
* If David Terrell acually was our starting S, would we have lost the game?
-very possible
* Did the Refs blow the whistle "early" on the Vinny Sack (that WAS A FUMBLE)??
-It was close
* With Coles gathering the attention that he is, is Gardner going to have a MONSTER season?
-Yup and think of next week against atlanta's DB's
* Would we have been MORE dangerous if Taylor Jacobs would have been healthy?
-not sure
* Is Robert Royal the Answer and Zeron Flemister his (soon 2 be) back-up.
-I think so. Royal was another un-noticed un-sung hero on thursday
* Did we never get tired of the Redskins band striking up...."Hail to the Redskins?"
-No
* Are you even more proud (if that is possible) to be a Redskins fan.
-Not possible
* Did those lighted torches surrounding the Stadium look really cool at night?
-Yes
* Should there be a METRO stop RIGHT at Fed-Ex Field??
-Sure
* Was last night (with national t.v., the Jets intrigue, etc.) an especially electric atmosphere.
-Yes very electric everybody was exited in the stands and on the field

Umm, there is a Metro stop being constructed about a quarter-mile from the stadium now guys. I don't think it will be completed until the 2005 season though.
hail2skins, how did you not know this? First Rush Limbaugh, now this?

That will be considered the stadium stop. They couldn't get it any closer due to the homes that are already constructed in the area. Snyder pushed for that stop BTW.

Wow!! This is GREAT news to hear. To have a Metro stop 1/2 mile from Fed-Ex Field would alliviate a lot of problems. I am especially pleased since I am planning to move back to the Metro D.C. area in the next year or two.
