The Jets are horrible so we shouldn't be thinking that the Skins are sure things to go to the playoffs. Anyone who watched the game clealry saw that the Redskins were the superior team, and should have won that game by a larger margin. But a win is a win and lets move on to week 2.

Lets start breaking down the strengths and weaknesses of the Falcons. Any thoughts?

Lets breakdown the opponents

Position Advantage (jets/falcons)
QB falcons (dont underestimate DJ)
RB falcons (Duckett/Dunn are better then Martin/Jordan)
WR falcons (Price is better then any Jet WR)

Even without Vick, the Falcons can beat us. For the 'skins to win we need to "finish" in the redzone with TD's vice FG's and curtail stupid penalties.

That's why I want Dalas to "soften up" the Falcons in a losing effort. No injuries, but a lot of aches and pains for the Falcons.

Hear me out guys.

I want the Falcons to blow the Cowboys out BIG TIME.

Why you ask? Well, I will tell you why.

Because the Redskins are probably feeling good, but cautious right now. After all, they didn't exactly blow out the Jets. So they probably don't have that over confident swagger thing going on.

Now, the Falcons, should they blow out the Cowboys, might get cocky and get that over secure swagger going. Not to mention, they just MIGHT be looking past us to the next week, when they play the defending Super Bowl Champs.

I would most definitely take Martin/Jordan over Duckett/Dunn. In the WR and QB category, I would take the Falcons though.

im always rooting for broken hands legs bodies etc. Especially when its DALLAS and the Falcons. Im praying for injuries. In a matter of fact, im thinking of making sacrificies to the football gods....

I am always hoping for no injuries as a normal, moral person. I want to beat a team when it is at full strength....I guess I can't say that about everyone......

The Jets backs are better... not sure about the O-lines. Price is solid, but if we matchup Champ on him... he's just about done for.

The other WR's for ATL are average at best.

I'm worried about the defense. Where are they going to come from? Fake blitzes, real ones... the 3-4 can give an offense fits. We'll just need a clean game and get a few turnovers.

We are probably going to have our hands full but the Jets D is pretty darn good and if we had held onto the ball as well as executed(no penalties)a little better we would have shown a vey effecient offense. We need to pass protect better and that would help a lot of the stalled drives we saw Thursday, nuff said. Our D with no Vick should be able to hold them to 21 or under,we just have to finish on O and cover returns better to properly set up the D.

I think Duckett/Dunn are equal to Jordan/Martin. Price is better than any Jets WR, but he will still be carry Champ on his back so I wouldn't expect him to have a great game. The question for our D is to get pressure. Vinny sucked despite having 10min to throw the ball. Johnson will play much better.

My questions are making sure we take care of business. I don't think we will run as well against their D and we'll have to watch the blitzing more. Our O-Line will have to play much better.

I hope the Falcons come out strong against the boys. I hope they come outstrong against us and still get their a$$es kicked. I want wins the hard way.

The Falcons run a 3/4 base defense, zone covering and odd blitz angles. That is the defense the Jets switched to in the 2nd half. The Team better make use of the extra 3 days to watch some game film and practice. The Falcon defense is about on par witht the Jets. Kearney is a high-motored terror at DE. Thier LBs are strong and thier DBs are fair. Where they excelled last year was on special teams. Every facet of the st, they excelled at. Offensively, who knows. They are in a similar situation as the Jets. A second choice QB, new WR corp, new FBs. Hopefully, thier game plan will be altered and we'll be able to squash thier opportunities just like the Jets' were.

With the Falcons, I'm worried with Alge Crumpler, he's ready for a breakout, and when Champ shuts down Price, Crumpler will get some looks

i see this as another win for the skins. the falcons are not the same team when vick is missing...i wont underestimate them and say that we will win by 30 pts but i think this is a game the skins BETTER win. if they cant take advantage of these teams when they are down, we are in trouble. on that note, i hope the falcons knock the snout outta the pokes tomorrow, i mean today. ]

the falcons o-line is average so i think we should be able to generate more pressure against atlanta. i want to see some more blitzin' for edwards. dunn and duckett are a good 1-2, but we can handle them. the boys better tackle duckett, the guy is huge. if champ has anything to do with it, peerless price wont sniff the football. this will be the battle if the best free agent WR pickup, coles or price. the falcons defense is a solid one, but its one the skins can move the ball on. i dont think they have anyone that can handle coles. we played a good texans D last season who used the 3-4 and the skins handled it well. this pre-season, NE and smalltimore used 3-4, so at least the guys have played against it together. thank god they've got 3 extra days to prepare....skins win 27-17...

It will be really hard to see how the dirty birds will do until we see them tomorrow against the 'pukes. I'll wait for that.

The only thing that will be easier in this game is not having to worry about Johnson outside the pocket. But, he can certainly beat us with his arm.

I think the Falcons are a better offensive team than the Jets, Vick or no Vick. Curtis Martin may have been a better back than Dunn in his prime, but not this year and maybe never again. Dunn has more explosion that Martin right now and represents a bigger challenge for our Defense.

Price will keep Bailey occupied, so Smoot and Bauman have to have big games against the #2 and #3 wideouts of the Falcons.

Patrick Kearney is probably licking his chops after seeing what Abraham did to Samuels on Thursday. I hope Coach Helton has a spirited week of practices lined up for the O line on passblocking.
