GO PACK! GO FINS! (And in my case......GO JETS!)

Anybody see the Bucs up 14-0 on the Saints? Could the Saints have been nothing more than an aberration last season?

I fully expected houston to be a good team this year because of Shaub.

What is wrong with the Saints? Brees can't throw it past 5 yards at a time?

If we stay healthy and with a little improvement each week, we should be able to win the NFC East. Giants seem done already, Dallas defense is a liability(especially losing the NT) and Eagles are still a question mark to me. Tomorrow night I hope we shadow westbrook with Landry and on offense, ram it straight at Kearse and take him out of his pass rush game. Just like the quote from Midway "Ram it home" GO SKINS !!!!!!!

I was saying man that has to suck fo Oakland and kicker to make the fg only to find out you have to ckick it again.

Shanahan did the right thing. You can call a timeout right up until the snap. Good for him.

LT hasn't exactly been all world....
I think it's too early to call Rivers anything resembling a bust. The StuporChargers have played two games against two of the best defenses in the league, I think the only thing that has been proved thus far, is that the Chargers are not among the elite in the NFL. Good point. Starting off the season against the Bears and Patriots is not an easy task. LT tends to start off slow anyway; most likely because he takes the preseason off. Last year, he only had (1) 100-yard rushing game in his first 6...yet he popped off 9 in a row after that. Up next? A tougher-than-expected Green Bay Packers team who has tallied two wins against the NFC East so far. Regardless, I think LT is poised to get things going sooner or later. His talent is heads better than his competition, and rarely to do superstars get held down for long. I'm guessing a patented 200-total yards and 3-4 TD game is in his near future.

Yes...I totally overlooked Norv's presence on the team when I predicted SD would go far in the playoffs this year. I assumed you couldn't mess up a team with LT, Gates, Merriman...etc....yet it appears Norv is on his way to doing it.

I wonder what the SD front office sees in former-Redskin head coaches?

Yeah, I don't think any fantasy owners of LT are going to dump him. ;) He will definitely break out soon with a big day. The Chargers desperately need a receiver to step up right now.

On another note, the Saints look poised for a huge collapse this year. Despite their great offense last year, they defied the odds in posting a winning record, while having a negative turnover ratio. That is a rare fluke that is not going to be repeated by them and seeing their defensive inadequacies, I don't see an improvement on forcing turnovers.

The Saints were simply embarrased by the Bucs. The Saints are in some sort of funk and they forgot how to properly run tht offense. Brees didn't even complete a pass to a WR until into the 2nd quarter. Very untypical of that offense.

Speaking of collapses....how about the Rams dropping two home games in a row to start off 0-2? Or how about 3 of the 4 AFC East teams being winless? So much for that conference being one of the best in the NFL.

After signing with the Panthers last week, reporters asked Christian Fauria about the whole videotaping thing and whether or not he ever knew about it. so after 2 games, against 2 of the better teams, rivers has looked flustered and unimpressive- for the most part. even in the win against the bears..

granted norv has only had him for less than a year, but what is the consensus among hR faithfull. is he the real deal ?

i personally have my doubts. not ready to throw him overboard, but i cannot say i am overly impressed.

thoughts ?

I've always enjoyed watching Rivers (going back to his NCSU days) and despite his unorthodox play, I think he's a winner and has a lot of the intangibles you want in a QB. Facing the Bears and Pats is pretty hard for anyone, much less a 2nd year starter, especially when they are having trouble getting LDT on track. I also think that SD has severely misjudged their potential at WR. Jackson is wildly inconsistent and without Parker they have basically nothing on the outsides for Rivers to work with.

So much for that conference being one of the best in the NFL.

i think the saints played over their heads last season.. that much is evident.
plus the overall lack of talent on defense is hurting them

Not a bad comparison, however to this point at least, Rivers hasn't shown the propensity to throw those really awful int's that you can see coming from a mile away that Jake still does (and did yesterday). Given time maybe he'll catch up though ;)
