For those of us (which just might be me) that are into fantasy epics, Robert Jordan died Sunday at 2:45 PM (blood and bloody ashes). Really sad loss for the fantasy world, as his Wheel of Time books were best sellers. RIP RJ.

In case anybody really cares, the last book in the series (Memory of Light) sounds all but done, and he sat down (in true foreshadowing fashion) with his wife (also his editor), cousin and tape recorder and dished out all the bones days before his death. So it sounds like it's going to be finished.

Anyways, he was a great man (served in the armed forces) and fought amlyodosis with all he had until the end. RIP RJ.

That's a bummer; I've been thinking about reading WoT, but am not sure if I want to or not. I guess I'll wait and see how well the last one turns out.

I'll let you know dude. It'll take a while to get through though, a solid 10000 pages and the last one is going to be a monster supposedly...

I enjoyed the first few books in the WoT series but then it got too complicated for me to follow, with so many different characters and plots to keep up with.
Maybe I'll take them back up and try to get into them again, since there will finally be an ending.

RIP

Great author and all around nice guy. Condolences to his family.

Love the WoT series. A series 17 years in the making, as the first book was published back in 1990 I believe.

Yeah, it gets a bit insane. But there are 4 or 5 core plots to worry about, and I just take the rest as window dressing and not worry too much about it. If I remember exactly who or what is going on, then great. If not, I read it and file it away, hopefully catching the plotline again next time it catches up. A lot of little side stories are mentioned once or twice and die as the major plotlines move away from it.
