I hope this puts to rest all the talk about who our #3 reciever is and who will probably be our #2 next year when Rod Gardner leaves. I know he only had one catch but for a touchdown, and also he had some sick blocks. I look at his numbers last year in spot duty and he does his damn thing.

assuming gardner isn't around next year, I would think that jacobs would move into the number 2 spot. That is, unless he flops which I don't see him doing.

I like McCants too.

McCants is solid... it always seems like we only get the tip of the iceburg with him. He'll step it up when given the opportunity. It's good for him that Jacobs is out a little while.

WHEN?! What has he done to desrve the boot? Besides didn't he sign for more then 3 years?

Why would you think we wouldn't try to re-sign Gardner? I have a feeling he will be a Skin for the next 5 or so years.

Rod Gardner will only be a restricted FA next yearso we can tender him an offer and get a first round pick for him but more likley we will resign him for at least one year

Who signs a top 15 pick to 3 year deal.

I don''t think we'll get a first rounder for him but if we do look at this. We should have 3 first rounders next year if we don't manage to resign Champ. It sounds great but it's not. Why rebuild when you have a good core of players?

Gardner won't be a restricted free agent until 2006

McCants was in the right place at the right time. Jacobs is and should be number three

gardner gets no respect. he struggled his 1st year but was still the best rookie out of that class and he has gotten better each year.

it would be a mistake to let him go i am one of his biggest supporters and I think a Coles & gardner combo could be excellent for years to come.

If his contract expires after the 2005 or 2006 seasons, it would make him unrestricted. 3 accrued seasons results in a restricted FA, 4 or more results in an unrestricted FA. This is currently his third season now.

I am sure even if we don't resign Champ his 2 number ones will be over 2 years

If Gardner has the type of season most think he'll have and Champ doesn't get resigned, I look for the Skins to rework Gardner's contract.

Skins57 I meant if we loose Gardner as an RFA.

I am pulling for Gardner to re-sign. I loved this pick from the start.

Much will depend on this season's performance and how quickly and how much of an impact Taylor Jacobs makes on this team. If Jacobs makes the impact that many of us believe he can, then why would we spend precious cap dollars on another WR, when Coles and Jacobs are the future. Now, if Gardner has a huge year, Jacobs gets off to a slower start, then I can see it.

You make it seem as if Gardner is old. Also, we'll need more than just Coles and Jacobs.

We need our top 3 recievers to be with us this year and the next regardless of how jacobs does.PR's job will get easier and easier with consistent, familiar targets.

Finally some respect paid to DMC?

As I've said all year...he has big hands and great catching and leaping ability. ALL great qualities of a Red Zone target.

I don't care if he is our #3 or #4...as long as he gets playing time.
