Hmmm...all you have to do is move around the sliders at the end of the quiz to create your desired outcome. ;)
I didn't force the outcome with the sliders, so here are my honest results...
1. Fred Thompson
2. Sam Brownback
3. Chris Dodd (?!?!)

you know what.. i think it is because the survey was skewed (or maybe i am skewed ??) and was based upon iraq so much
i was in favor of same sex marriage ..how does that fit in with huckabee or romney ?
i am torn about iraq because i think it was a correct concept but has been totally screwed up by bush. yet i dont think we can simply waive bye and pullout totally
i felt that none of the answers about medical matters were adequate, but think that a one payer system will be a disaster for the nation
there is simply no way i will vote for huckabee or anyone fromthe religious right.. and i dont trust romney at all. i would like to know more about fred thompson, but he is still playing coy holding his fire
on the dem side, i could and will vote for obama before i would vote for a far right candidate
go figure.. they simply didnt ask me the right questions, i guess.. shows how polls can be misleading

A lot of people who thought they had nothing in common with Clinton politically are going to be shocked by how close their views to her views might be. Of course, that doesn't mean those people will actually vote for HRC. The Clintons are like a national and cultural Rorschach test for a lot of people. Their views of the couple are shaped by their views of certain issues and controversies over the last 40 years. It's complicated.
Dave, I'm thinking, will be one of those people not voting for HRC. The Tancredo thing makes sense, though, because of the immigration issue. Tancredo is pretty much a one-issue candidate. When asked for his opinion about global warming and climate change, he blamed it on immigrants. Seriously. He's not a realistic nominee. His role in the primaries will be to keep immigration on the front burner and to force candidates like Giuliani and Romney to continue lying about their past positions on the subject.

but on the immigrant issue i didnt say build a fence and didnt say send them back.. so how does that align me with tancredo ??
someone designed the poll funny is all i can think
huckabee, romney, giuliani for me. Tancredo was right behind them because apparently i agree with him on taxes and how to address global warming. bill richardson actually came up as 5th for me, largely on the strength of his experience as governor. not surprisingly, Paul and Obama disagree with me on every single issue.

See the reason this whole quiz is off is the reason why debates have no use right now.
It comes down to electability in many people's mind. IN a vacumn some of my views are probably closer to Kucinich then HRC. But I have no faith that kucinich could a.) get elected B.) if elected be able to make the compromises neccessary to enact the olans he proposes.
I may not agree 100% wiht HRC on every social issue, but I believe her political aptitude can negotiate the waters of the presidency and start our country on the road to recovery from the last 8 years, and this includes getting out of Iraq, even though it would be slower then I and those to my left are hoping for.
So since the quiz cannot take practicality into account it is kind of worthless.

I don't really understand that logic. Now so more then ever. If your a Dem now is the time to get the things done that you want to get done. you have a majority and will likely gain even more seats. Unless a miracle happens who ever you nominate is going to get elected. Why now of all times would you not try to get the guy you most identify with elected?
Also the wife is really hot.

because despite the odds favoring the Dems in this upcoming election an awful lot could happen between nomination and election ... for example, if a staunch anti war candidate like kucinich got nominated and bin laden surfaced or something horrible happened (GOD forbid) it might shift the outlook of the populace.. you just never know... which is why the most electable candidates usually get nominated (but not always)

he's not only talking electable in the sense of the general, but the primary. kucinich can't win that primary. he'll drop out of the race and declare for his House seat so that he keeps his job. and kucinich getting the nomination might be the miracle that keeps the dems out of the white house. kucinich is the dem's crazy candidate that most of the main stream party would like to see on the sidelines.

I understand all of that but all the dems I know if you ask them about the issues they agree with almost everything Kucinich says and little of what Hillary says. He is much more mainstream then we give him credit for. I think his appearance really hurts him more then anything. If your really a liberal I don't understand the support for Hillary. Just about every other person running is more liberal then she is and the fact that she refused to answer questions in the debate last night would for lack of a better word really piss me off. I understand all of that but all the dems I know if you ask them about the issues they agree with almost everything Kucinich says and little of what Hillary says.Well, there isn't a huge amount of space, policy-wise, between the Dem candidates. The big differences will be in how ambitious they will be. Those of us who have concerns about HRC think she will not be ambitious at all. In fact, I think just being President is her ambition. Anything she does beyond that would be gravy to her.
He is much more mainstream then we give him credit for. I think his appearance really hurts him more then anything.Well, he's mainstream Dem on some issues, but out of the mainstream on many others. I don't think I know any Dems, apart from Dennis the Menace, who think we should replace the Department of Defense with the Department of Peace. He's a bit spacey. A person can be right about certain things, but still be completely inappropriate for high office.
If your really a liberal I don't understand the support for Hillary.Let's face it, her last name is magical. She's Bill Clinton's wife and, with due apologies to the 1/3rd of the country that loathes the man, Party Bill is more popular than ever. He's a complete rock star. He was very popular when he left [over 60% approval in the polls -- highest for any departing prez since modern polling began] and 7 years of Bush have only made Bill look better by comparison. Off the record, HRC insiders will tell you that Bill is their strongest card and everyone, including the candidate herself, knows it.
Other liberals support HRC because they think she'll be more liberal in the White House than she has been in the Senate [they're dead wrong]. Still others know the Clintons can be very tough on their opponents and figure getting in on the ground floor is better than being frozen out for 8 years.
...the fact that she refused to answer questions in the debate last night would for lack of a better word really piss me off.It was pretty ballsy of her, no pun intended.
She has not won the nomination yet.Definitely not. I'd give her a 50% chance of winning the nomination right now. That's far better than any of her rivals, but certainly not a sure shot. If she loses Iowa, all bets are off. Seriously off. If she wins Iowa and New Hampshire, it's over.

because when you get older and crustier (I feel old because i just had a bday...though not as old as Shally) you start to understand that the chicken in every pot wild eyed dreamer candidates like your Ron paul's and Dennis Kucinich's are great but not practical. i think hillary will be a superb candidate.. it is hard to imagine anyone provoking her into a response that would be damaging.
her only problems will be how "likeable" an image she presents and whether this country is to a point where it is willing to elect a woman president. and whether some people who would prefer to see hell freeze over before she is elected have moved to a more moderate position on her..
polls are one thing, but behind the curtain, whether we like it or not, the voters "id" is often revealed
but unlike some of the past candidates, she knows how to run a campaign

HRC will never thrill the voters, but she won't make mistakes. Of all the people running for prez, in both parties, she is by far the least likely to make a killing mistake.
