Now that we beat the Jets and Atlanta beat the Cowboys, we are off to play the Falcons. For those who saw both games, what do you think are going to be the keys of the game?
As for me, I think the REDSKINS need to:
* Have more pressure on QB D. Johnson than they had against Vinny & the Jets.
* Call another SMART football game (with a balanced attack).
* Sure up our Special Teams. Honestly, they scare me and they could be our achilles heel.
* Most importantly, not to get to besides ourselves (overconfident, that is) by beating the Jets on National T.V. as coupled with the Michael Vick-lessness of the Falcons.
What are your thoughts.

I think we will be able to blitz like crazy as the Falcons have thier number 2 WR out and Johnson is not going to run and Smoot and Champ can take care of the recievers and LaVar on Crumpler. We should be able to get to Johnson

The falcons didnt look sharp to me.Johnson struggled being consistent although Dallas provided a lot of pressure. They also didnt appear to have a big time running game either.Falcons D didnt look as scary as advertised so i feel like they shouldnt be any harder to handle than the Jets who also have a solid D.
We have to provide better pass protection on O and find a pass rush from somewhere on D.We also cannot allow them to start half their drives at mid field as it seemed we did aginst the Jets. The coverage teams have to do a better job period!

Eight in the box. I fully trust Champ on Price and Smoot on whoever the hell replaces Finneran. Keep Ohalete on Crumpler, and jam him on the line on every play. Stacking the line will help us against the run. It'll also allow us to blitz more, which is an absolute necessity after watching the front four try to make a push towards Vinny.

Yes, contain Dunn first. Get Chase and Dalton more playing time. Put pressure on the QB with a little more blitzing than we saw in the first game. Keep someone on Crumpler at all times, they'll be looking his way alot.
On offense, attack their rookie corner early and often if he's in the game. Get the running game but have a balanced attack. PROTECT Ramsey.

Man to Man coverage on the wideouts, 8 in the box to contain Dunn and double cover Crumpler with a linebacker underneath and a safety over the top.

THROW IT TO COLES....If Galloway can beat their corners the way he did... Coles has to be licking his lips

Agreed. Get Coles into the end zone.
And protect Ramsey!

The RB that scares me is Griffith. He ran very well against the Boys.
The Falcons play a 3-4 def. Which scares the the heck out of me. They blitz on just about every play. And since we seem to have a problem with our RBs picking up the blitz, it could mean for a long day for Ramsey and the offense

As much as I like Betts, look for Trung to have a nice game. They're going to be on turf and the Rams are a turf team. Trung had his best game on turf so don't be surprised if he rips off a couple of nice ones.

Another big day for Betts and include Cartwright. Once again use McCants as the go to guy in the endzone.
Defense - Let Lavar go crazy and don't let Dunn go outside.
Special Teams - do what you did against the Jets.

Yep - that too. .............. The one thing I would REALLY like to see - Patrick hit our receivers on deep patterns in stride. I think he and LC are still getting use to each other.

Yeah, if it wasn't for Ramsey having to avoid a rusher, I think he would have done that last week.

atlanta did not look very good at all. i know they won and made more plays than dallas when it came down to it, they looked very unimpressive. with that said, this is the NFL and anything can happen. atlanta has alot of injuries, including finneran so it looks like all the skins have to do is hold dunn/duckett/griffith to under 60 yds like they did to the jets. they cant let alge crumpler (what a name!) go nuts on them like he did to dallas. and price was going up against a rookie DB yesterday and had just 2 catches for 30 yds, image what he is gonna do to champ. thats right, nothing. the rest of the falcons receivers are average at best. on defense, their defense is pretty active so the o-line needs to be on their toes. the 2ndary is banged up i can see ramsey/coles having a good-great game if ramsey is protected well. the cowboys had a long 77 yd run against the falcons D, so i hope trung and or betts can have big games against the falcs. this is the falcons home opener so i think the game will be closer then it should, but i see the skins winning this one 27-16.

I believe your right.
Hopefully that will be worked on this week and while they're on the pratice field, figure a way to get Chad Morton that one extra block.
