View Full Version : Warner needs to work on the Fundamentals

It won't help with him getting sacked, but it may stop the fumbles. Look at all the fumbles against the Gints, Warner holds the ball with one hand down by his waist. He is asking to have the ball knocked loose.
He needs to be coached up by SS and his staff. Hold the ball with 2 hands right behind the ear, protected, and ready to throw.

Another Fundamental to consider -
Don't play while your still hampered by recent concussion.
I suppose that was something his coach should have considered.

He looked like a 14 year old boy trying to unsnap a grown womans brassiere.
The best part of Bulger possibly getting a chance to start... we dont have to see Warners wife sitting in the front row after every set of downs.

Bulger is not only a better QB, when asked if there was any chance he would start when Warner was healthy, he denied.

Gettin' a little close to home there, Seeway. ;)
I'll give Warner at least one more chance before turning in a verdict. Two things keep me from falling on one side of the fence right now. First, he was playing with a damn concussion. Second, Martz called 54 pass plays versus 13 running plays. That's just begging the defense to stop you.

Or... you're making excuses for Warner, as most "experts" have been doing for 3 years now.

Three years? Two years ago he was playing in the Super Bowl....
And, yes, yes I am, after one week I'll give Warner the benefit of the doubt. This seems to be a concept that completely eludes you, GIG. I'm throwing last year in the tank because Warner was playing with two hand fractures. That's not an excuse. That's a fact. This year, his future will be decided within a few weeks. He'll either continue to play like Jeff George, and get yanked, or he'll start looking like the QB who's broken multiple records since he replaced Trent Green. I'm not saying which one is gonna happen. I don't know, and I'm not picking either side at the moment. But you're already making outrageous claims based on one week. Why don't you call LaDainian Tomlinson the next big bust while you're at it? Obviously the guy can't run if he only churns out 61 yards in a single game.

The blame is on Martz for allowing Warner to stay in the game. I heard more of his press conference yesterday and I couldn't believe the things he was saying but yet he kept him in the game. He tried to avoid a QB controversy but he created it himself instead.

DIDN'T GIVE THE BALL TO MARSHALL ENUFF, GINTS TEE'D OFF ON HIM, AND HE HELD THE BALL TO LONG.

This is a discussion for another website, or at the very least a PM.

I will give Warner the benefit first as well. Let's face it, last year was a disaster, but 2001 was spectacular with 4,830 yards and 36 tds!!!!!!! The year before that (00) in only 11 games he had 3429 yards and 22 td passes, of course we all know the outstanding season he had in 99. This is a guy with a career 66.7 completion percentage!!!!!!
Maybe Bulger is a good QB, but Warner has EARNED his starting spot.
Give Bulger one start, and let Warner heal. This is the last time, however, that I will listen to "well he was injured". If he is, then he needs to come out, if he's not smart enough to do that, the coach is, and if niether is smart enough to see that, then maybe Warner does need to sit. An injured Warner is not better than a healthy back up.

A healthy Warner isn't even better than a healthy backup!

point is GiG, it's actually only been one year (2002) that has been a problem with Warner. And injuries were very much a factor. Trust me, it's hard to throw when your hand bones are broken.
(I will agree, he should have taken himself out though.)

He still needs to work on the fundamentals. He holds the ball way too low and with one hand. Concussion or no concussion, he would drive SS crazy how he holds the ball.

Exactly robert. you see how fast Ramsey gets that ball up after the snap. Ready to pitch it at a moments notice.

but that was just last game...which they are now saying was due to the concussion. The ESPN crew broke down the film, and he wasn't doing that a few years ago.
side note...still mesmorized by that elvis!!!!

January 2002, O Sarcastic One. And by "years" I meant "seasons." I probably don't need ot point out that January 2002 was even closer than two years ago.

Spurrier would bench him for not being coachable.

Kurt just about single handedly lost the game for SL on Sunday. He was brutal and Bulger should have been in there much earlier. The Giants were NOT very impressive but so far they seem to have evryone fooled. If not for Warner's fumbles the Rams easily win that game and if Martz wasn't such a moron and would have kicked a FG in the 4th instead of going for it twice on 4th & longs in FG range then SL may have been able to come back anyway.
Warner had an unbelievable 3 year run, one of the greatest in history, but it's over and time to move on for the Rams and it's also time(way overdue) to get rid of that dopey coach.

I was watching some show yesterday and one of the guys said something that hey, Warner wasn't drafted and he was in the arena football league, what does that tell us. He came onto a team that had talent/weapons.

sorry hail2skins...you don't put up his amazing numbers and not be someone special. Even with weapons and system, you don't do it being a phoney. Warner is the real deal.
I give him his next start and we'll see what happens, if still stupid mistakes, then a change of scenery should be what takes place. (wouldn't mind seeing him in a Skins uni!)

I would mind!! There are two types of players I hate to have on my team:
1. Punks
2. Dukies
