and I mean it. Coach John Hastings, Head of Conditioning, ought to be canned. I have never, in my life, seen any team with so many groin and hamstring injuries. That's right, I am calling him out, it is time for John Hastings to be fired!

Just saw in the Thumbs Up/Down, and I agree. This team's injuries are almost becoming a joke.

I laughed when I saw Cooley on the oxygen right before the start of the second half. Wasn't 20 minutes of sitting around enough for him to catch a breather :lol1:

In the post I made I question this.

We have like 4-5 guys with a groin and 2 guys with hammy's.

What the heck is going on.

I have to agree here. Someone is to blame!

I also have never seen this many.

I'm sorry but this isn't just a problem with the Skins, it's the entire NFL. Guess what, we don't have the severe injuries that other teams have. If I'm not mistaken, folks were praising the team several weeks ago for their conditioning.

coloey was sucking air on that first stumble/run -- he looked like his legs were lead - is this lack of PRACTICE and conditioning? they should work hand in hand

Your title scared me Mark.........

I don't know if its the weather today or not stretching good but this is getting to be crazy. It seems like when we play that OUR team is the only one getting these injuries.

I thought our equipment people were negligent as well. The slipping on the wet field and not having the right length cleats may have contributed to the groin injuries suffered by Rabach, Heyer and Wade they were getting bull rushed and slipping baclwards

I saw lots of players getting the cleats changed during the game.

Agreed. This is a bit of an overraction IMO. Injuries are part of the game and I don't know if the coach is to blame for our rash or not??? I'd need to be in the lockerroom on a daily basis to see.

Good points. I didn't think we handled the weather very well. You would have thought we played in a dome stadium.

I agree that we are having too many injuries that seem to be conditioning related. There have been a lot of groin and hamstring injuries. It seems, though, that recently they are more on the offensive side of the ball. The D has had injuries but is it my imagination that the offense, especially the line, is really out of shape?

Jansen and Thomas had freak injuries that couldn't have been prevented from conditioning, but the amount of groin and hamstring pulls defintitely is something Hastings need to look @. He needs to start micromanaging more and personally make sure every player is completley stretching out their legs and hydrating throughout the game. It's almost like our players don't run full speed all week and when it comes to game time it's like an overload on their body, and something gets tweaked. We need to start doing all out sprints all week @ the beginning and end of every practice.

Yep, couldn't agree more skinsfan45. I noticed Cooley's legs myself on that play. He never seemed to have gotten them under him on that play.

This may be due to him seeing 50 yards of open field in front of him after a half broken play dump off pass....:mfast:

This is a ridiculous overreaction. Last year, the coaches were very strict on the offseason conditioning program and some of the vets complained that they would be fresher if left alone. This year, a lot of players were given the freedom to do their own thing over the summer. Same results...

Bottom line, we need tougher training camps and full participation. Anybody who complains needs to be shown the door.

Abso-flipping-lutely.

Maybe we can get Coughlin when the Giants fire him. :lol1:

LOL! No, actually I took it as serious, and I actually might agree if I was around the team on adaily basis.... But I just don't know what in the name of John Hall is going on around here???

EDIT:
That said, I am beginning to wonder if our players are just soft.

In essence, it is sarcasm in response to this forum after a loss and the tendency of some to post Gibbs should be fired thread. I beat'em to it, just a different angle. :)

Preach on, brother!

Injuries happen, there is no way to prevent them, it's all up to chance. But the conditioning woes of certain players *cough, Portis, cough* can be managed. I don't know what is wrong with Moss but I would bet if he had been spending his summer afternoons at Ashburn, with Campbell, he wouldn't be dropping everything thrown his way.

The injuries to the O-Line is just plain bad luck. Though we have been lucky in that we have been able to overcome them until today. I didn't hear what Wade's injury was but he was getting destroyed anyway. Then Heyer came in and did a little better but made mistakes and them got hurt himself. Wade came back in... I sure am missing Jansen right about now. Not only was he much better but he played through various injuries.
The Rabach injury hurts tremendously. I will pray that it is only a sore muscle and nothing lingering.

LOL! I'll be the first to admit that I'm not the brightest bulb on the Christmas tree.

I just hope we can get healthy for our "must win" against Arizona.
