As a native of St. Louis, John Brandenburg resides smack in the middle of the country. His college choices – Stanford and Virginia – couldn’t be further apart on opposite coasts. On Sunday night, Scout.com’s 82nd ranked prospect picked the East Coast and the Virginia Cavaliers.

“It was the most difficult decision of my life,” Brandenburg said. “East Coast? West Coast? Am I picking where I’ll live the rest of my life?”

4 star center.....I think a legit 6-11, runs the floor well, good down low presence, improving D, but Leitao is amazing at improving anyones D...Great pick-up dj......go on the Sabre, they talk about his importance a lot.

Nice catch for UVA. I did some research and found that he was excited that UVA could offer him immeditate playing time. He also liked UVA's business school. Didn't help that he toured Stanford when the school wasn't in session. The place was deserted. At UVA, otoh, he met tons of neat people during his tour.

He made a second visit to Stanford, about a week or two after he went to UVA, but at UVA he LOVED the Comm School, and he LOVED the White Spot, i.e. the Gus burgers

Holy cow! They put fried eggs on their burgers! No wonder he picked UVA! ;)

Yeah, I've been spending most of my time at the Sabre reading up on Football. I guess its that time of year to start getting ready for basketball.

I've never been able to get into the White Spot on gameday. Place is so tiny and its always packed. I'll need to make a separate trip just for the Gus Burger. I fully believe that adding fried eggs to any food will automatically improve it!

Assane Sene is the third member of UVa's 2008 recruiting class.
Assane Sene, a 6-foot-11, 225-pound center from South Kent (Conn.) Prep School by way of Senegal, informed the UVa staff earlier this morning that he would play his college basketball in Charlottesville.
