This was one of the most poorly officiated games I have seen in quite some time. It started with the really bad Offensive Pass interference call against James Thrash, all Thrash did was avoid being tackled before Campbell threw the ball. Then the tripping against Randle El on the punt return which was extremely obvious yet was not called, ironically we were called for a block in the back on that play. But the most blatant of all the calls was an uncalled face mask, You can actually see the Ref watch it happen and not make the call, Portis gets up in disgust grabbing his facemask indicating the penalty, and the ref just looks at Portis and shakes his head no. Now this in no way was the reason we lost the game all I would like to know is if anybody else notice any other uncalled penalties and are these Refs held accountable for these terrible calls?

TONS about this on the Packers post game show. They were talking about how it was one of the worst officiating jobs they seen in recent memory and how calls were completely blown for both teams. Their big beef was a "phantom holding call" that reversed their touchdown. I wasn't complaining personally...

That call was bad, but Tauscher did put his hands to the face of Daniels. It was a foul, just not the call they made.

I saw the Portis facemask. The ref was standing right there. I had to back up the TIvo and show my step dad. That was wide open. I have seen them call less. I don't want to resort to blaming the refs. we just had poor play and if we blame the refs it ain't gonna fix nothing. Everybody take responsiblity and better yourself. They should never settle for anything less then the best from themselves.

The no call on the push out was bad as well.

But all that aside we still should have won the game and the officiating is not why that didn't happen (IMO).

but there were other bad calls that went the skins way.. smoot should have been called for a push out or face guarding against franks. he never turned around and that should have been a TD

also, rogers got away with at least 1 blatant illegal contact/pass interference

we also appeared to get jobbed on the spot when cooley reached out on the third down play that came up short.. the spot looked way short of where cooley actually had the ball as he was going out of bounds

lots of bad calls all day

BUT even with them, we lost the game, the refs didnt take it from us

multiple bad calls and at least 4 that did not get called at all-- but what's new -- the only thing that has not changed about MOST officiating in games is that they are not being held accountable --- we have all seen games where the officiating was so off that it actually cost some teams a win - this was not one of them

Actually, I think the poor officiating DID change the game. It would have been a totally different game if those calls were made correctly. I'm not saying we'd have won, but things would look a lot different. That JC INT, it would have been a reception and at least a FG. INT was completely the wrong call.

respectfully, no.. even had we gotten every questionable call, we would have lost...there were enough correct calls to see to that

How about the James Thrash call the DB was falling on the ground and they call off setting penalty ?? IMO that play changed the out come of the game.

I actually started this thread to show the officiating was bad as a whole, not just against the skins, im really glad you brought those other ones up Shally. They were terrible and I just feel like they should be held accountable, it was horrible Shally.

There was also the simultanious catch by ARE and the Packer DB that was called an interception.

that one took a little momentum away from us but if anything they should have gotten mad as heck and stepped their game WAY up and taken it completely out of the officials hands -- the officiating did not cost us the game --- if anything we served it up on a shiny platter and handed to GB

There were a few instances of holding that weren't called and two facemasks that weren't called. On the other hand, we got away with two late hits that weren't called.

The biggest of the bad calls were the interception that Moss deflected and ARE caught and then shared with the defender. At best, it was a tie and that should go to the team with possession.

The other real bad call was the Thrash reception that got nullified for offsetting fouls. The defender clearly grabbed Thrash and all Thrash did was extend an arm to get clear. The officials basically rewarded the defense for interfering by calling the double penalty. Either call the first offender or just keep the flag in your pocket and let them play football.

Anyhow, while I agree that the officials definitely screwed us on some calls, I don't think that is what cost us this game. Our own failures, specifically at catching the ball and protecting it, is why we lost.

Yeah.... I've seen alot more jousting go uncalled. All the contact happened within 5 yards, Thrash broke towards the sideline, the corner didn't go with....... Michael Irvin would be the most penalized WR in the game if he played today!

Not a great job by the officials but at least they spread around the bad calls. If we had won, I'm sure Green Bay fans would be enraged over the push-out/interference by Smoot in the end zone.

For once it seemed to work it's way out.

It went both ways...so I'm not going to get on the bandwagon of blaming this loss on the Refs. The Redskins clearly lost this game and they didn't need any help in doing it.

The INT call should have been awarded to the receiver, but it seemed as if the refs did some makeup calls later on that quarter.

The biggest ref botchjob, imo, pertaining to a Redskins/Packers game was the illegal motion call on Trash a few years ago that negated Portis' "summersault" TD. I'm still steamed on that one.

Non of our losses were due to offciating but I thought it was funny that we got our first first down via penalty in week 6.

I agree but I would have pointed to the phantom illegal procedure call in 2004 (on Thrash) that nullified a game tying 4th quarter Portis TD reception. If memory serves me right, Brunell threw a pick on the next play thus continuing our unfortunate 2004 nightmare. Attribute it to carma.

Don't get me wrong, I think we come in for more poor officiating than most teams, but this last weekend was bad all around.

I suspect all teams could point to blown calls which have cost them games, but the Skins have an edge.

2004 was a nighmare all around.
