The Boston Herald has a nifty piece today on how the Pats' receivers have been on easy street this season and how the Redskins might change that. They have lots of respect for our defensive secondary. Love this quote from Belichick:
"...those safeties are bigtime hitters. It seems like they have one or two big impact hits every game where they really light somebody up."

Congrats to the Herald for assigning a reporter to the Patriots this week.

At least they recognize they will be in a game even if they cover the spread. The ultimate beneficiaries may be the Colts after we soften up their WRs. After ST and LL Bob Sanders will command attention and more respect than might otherwise be the case.

It is nice to see our secondary get recognition but this will be their stiffest test all year. It will be awesome to see the best passing attack in the nfl v. arguably the best secondary in the nfl.

Totally agree. This late game on FOX will be seen in most of the country, so this is a real no-bleep showcase game for the secondary and the rest of the team. They know their friends and relatives are watching.

Slow week in the NFL when the biggest spread on the board is the main game.

Umm. This will be the 3rd time we have faced the #1 offense. And lets just say the team wasnt #1 after we got done with them.

Those teams were one-dimensional frauds. This will be a true test this week and I will be amazed if we hold NE under 300 total yards.

I'm concerned about them running the ball. I suspect we'll take away some of their passing game. We're good in the secondary and fast in the front seven .

I think we could be over protecting the pass game and get the draw run down our throats.

I'm more worried that we can hold them under three hundred POINTS!:

I hope it is a trap game, but the line is still 16+. That means a moral victory is beating the line, without by general concensus any chance at a victory. I hope the O line has gelled enough to take the wraps off the playbook, and the D continues at a high level. Then we can really get NE's attention.

This will be the ultimate test for our D and they will give it 110%,thats all we can ask.

I never noticed it before but where the heck did the term trap games come from? It is driving me nuts.

Nice remarks on the game. Thanks for posting the link.
Almost unnoticed this week is the match-up between Peyton and Vinny in Carolina. That should be fun to watch. Old vs. Young. Good luck to Testaverde. I'm smelling upset.
