OK, IT WAS ONLY ONE GAME, but am I crazy to be (somewhat) tickled by the fact that BOTH of our backs averaged over 4 yards a carry???

Keep in mind that our OL hasn't (as a whole) worked together a lot. Neither has Ramsey with his slew of new receivers. Once all of the parts gel and start to work together, our O might be a scary one (hopefully) and our running game might be better than expected (post Steven Davis, that is). Not a bad thought. I just hope that I'm right.

The only part that I'll disagree with is the OL. These guys have been working together for a rather long time. We signed all of the guys, with the exception of Dockery, early in the FA period. To be honest, I've been a little upset with the way they have played. Not nearly as good as I thought they would be at this point....

But, I am very happy with the run blocking. The pass blocking could use some work.

I have read little blurbs here and there that Kim Helton is not a great coach and may be hindering or even hurting the play of the line. Maybe some of our insiders know more on this.

RUSS GRIMM is coaching the Pittsburgh OL. I wish that we didn't run him out of town. He is a HOG for crying out loud and should be HERE. Nevertheless, I like the talent of the OL but it takes MORE than training camp, pre-season and 1 regular season game to get us "gellin' like a felon."

I've heard the same thing cam. Actually, I've been hearing that for a couple of years now. [last year and this year]

I prefer to be gellin' like Magellan. Much more refined.

We really need to work on the pass protection. We absolutely HAVE to pick up blitzes because the teams we play will blitz us 10 ways from Sunday and we have to give Ramsey whatever time we can.

So what if we're getting happy over one win? Would you rather us sit around dwell on the negatives? Screw that. I'm a fan of the Redskins and when they win, I'll be happier than hell. And when we lose, I'll be bitter.

Just a heads up fellas.

Perhaps I should clarify, Mike. No problem with getting happy after a win. You should have heard me yell at the stadium when John Hall's kick went thru the uprights with five seconds left. What I meant is that I don't think people should read too much into it. Our offense looked pretty good scoring 31 points on Arizona in the opener last year and we know how that turned out. I need to see some more wins from this team before I'm a believer. A win over New York in game three would impress me.

Yeah, we are way happy, but when you expect your team, in a close game on national TV to fold like they do EVERY friggin time for the past eight years, and they actually dont fold but pull it out and win, well, its damn exciting. Were used to blowing these.
