Ever wonder what the hell Joe Gibbs is talking about when you listen to his postgame press conference? Here's a few hints to help you translate Gibbs-speak into something you can understand.“Hard fought”: It was a boring game littered with three and outs and field goals where the Redskins ultimately backed into a victory via some “Redskins football.”

“Redskins Football”: An approach to game management so conservative it makes Barry Goldwater’s corpse blush. You know you are watching classic “Redskins Football” when you see the following:

1. A draw play on 3rd and 9 at midfield during a tie game.
2. A FG attempt from the 40 on first down during overtime.
3. A play action pass that is focused on a receiver only one yard past the line of scrimmage.
4. Eight games of regular season football without a TD pass to a WR.
Read it all. (http://www.hailredskins.com/?p=268)

“Teams”: This is the term Coach “Joe” uses to describe special teams. The irony in his leaving off the “Special” is that in his second tenure the coverage and return teams have been the only consistently above average unit on this s***wagon.
My goal for the rest of the week is to use s***wagon in a sentence.

This is too true to be funny.

Agree, but pathos is a main item in funny. It was so close to the truth I laughted even as I cried.

Oh boy, this will not sit well for the fans who can still not see this isn't the same coach Gibbs we had in the '80s and early '90s.

Good stuff.

What makes is both funny and unfortunate is that we know its true. Kind of like the "you know your Italian...." emails I get every so often or the " you know you are a redneck" email that supposedly rednecks get. GO SKINS !!!!

Good stuff other than the core redskin bit.

Last week he used the term "Roaring" to describe both Santana Moss and Laron Landry.
That one must have something to do with amount of noise made on the sideline or in the locker room as Moss went 4 catches for 49 yards.

And what's up with the "awards" he speaks of lately. Pucillo got one against Arizona (I'm assuming that was the roller skate award).

Good stuff other than the core redskin bit.I agree. Other than that it was funny stuff no doubt. Gibbs does tend to use the same terms alot making this even funnier.
