{Of the three injuries suffered Sept. 8 by the Eagles, the foot "sprain" to free safety Brian Dawkins draws the most concern, ESPN.com's John Clayton reports. Dawkins underwent an MRI Sept. 9 and is expected to be out two-to-three weeks. If this is a Lisfranc sprain, it could sideline Dawkins for an even longer period. Duce Staley had a Lisfranc injury a few years ago, and the injury is considered serious enough to jeopardize the remainder of the season. Cornerback Bobby Taylor has a foot strain. Though it is not considered serious, Taylor may not be able to play Sept. 14 against the Patriots. The hamstring strain of defensive end Brandon Whiting isn't regarded as too bad, except that it's the same hamstring that caused problems for Whiting when he missed time during training camp. If Whiting can't play against the Patriots on Sunday, the Eagles will be without their four of their top defensive ends starters Whiting and Derrick Burgess and rookies Jerome McDougle and Jamaal Green.}

Wow. You hate to see people go down. It's odd how hard the Eagles have been hit this year. Dawkins is a beast and the Eagles could really suffer this year.

I think this might really help us get up to number 2 in our division. I thought the Eagles would falter this year because of the lack of forward progression last year... but now i don't know how much of a chance they have.

After week one, I think the Giants are the best team in the East. I thought they were before the season started. I thought the Beagles had lost to many players on defense to repeat. I know the Beagles played the Yucs in week one, but I still think the Gints are now the team to beat in the East.

You and me both, Robert. I only wish Brian Dawkins had gotten that injury in a few weeks, right before we play them.

Knowing them they will rally behind these injuries and finish the year 15-1.

Holding out 3 weeks of training camp has got to mean something. Staley's absence in camp should have a long term impact on this team.
