Well, I have been biting my tongue in regards to my son's football team this year in hopes that I wouldn't curse them, but I can't hold it any longer.

Rajaun and his 75lb team from Kettering-Largo-Mitchellville will be facing another 75lb KLM team tomorrow at the PG Sports and Learning Complex for the County Championship. This is a similar situation from last year when he faced off against another KLM 65lb team that had some friends of his on it. Hopefully, the outcome will be different for him and his teammates this year.

If anyone is interested in attending, the cost is $4. There will be games all day. Rajaun and his team take the field at 4:30PM.

I'm really starting to think that I jinx these kids when I bring them up.

We lost a heartbreaker 13-12. The thing that hurts is IMO we were clearly the better team. Their two TDs came off of our RB inexplicably fumbling , for which they returned 50yds for a TD. The other TD came when we had their RB stopped for about a 20yd loss, only to have three players not wrap and tackle him, which then allowed him to rumble down the sideline for about 60yds.

Our two TDs came off of nice, sustained drives. What is haunting us now is the fact that we didn't convert on either extra point.

Not a happy time for us right now, but the coaches and myself did our best to focus on the positives when we talked to them after the game.

10-0 is great, but 9-1 isn't too shabby.

Were there really 12 men on the field on that fumble? I didn't see twelve of them.

The interesting thing about that is the defensive coordinator started yelling at Rajaun, saying that he had subbed for him at DTackle and that he shouldn't have been on the field. The problem with that is before the snap, said defensive coordinator along with the head coach was yelling at Rajaun to put his mouth piece in. Now, if you supposedly subbed for him, shouldn't you have realized when you were telling him to put his mouth piece in that he shouldn't have been out there? Also, there were only 4 linemen on the field at the time. If he subbed for him, then where was his replacement? The coaches screwed up on that one.

Another issue was the QB audibled on that extra point to that pass. He said that they were stacking the line. Well, there were three defenders around the flanker when he caught the ball. Even if they were stacking the line, that pass play wasn't the right play to audible to IMO.

I thought you all caught them with 12 men on the field because one of the other team's players was trying to get but I believe you all snapped it before he did but it wasn't called.

They need a play clock too. They should not be able to kill the clock with 40 something seconds left on it on 4th down.

Eric said to say hello. He was there with the wife and Eric Jr. Marcus girl was also there and she said she'll catch Keisha later. We tried to wait for you all but the team met for awhile when we thought they were headed out ot the gate.

As a matter of fact, we were arguing it with the refs on our side of the field. They gave us some excuse about it isn't called in HS and below if the player was trying to get off the field.

It's on to basketball now, but I may make Rajaun sit out. Jamirs will turn 5 on Wed., and he's been supporting his brother at baseball and football games for two years now. I think I will let Jamir play basketball while his older brother follows him around for a change.

QB on the 75lb team making audibles? Sounds like a heck of a team. Tell your boy to keep his head up.

P.S. Next year wait until after the championship game before you make your post! :Peace:
