I'm optimistic after seeing what Campbell did against Dallas. 5-1 is my guess, and I would prefer it if those five wins* came against the NFC (even if that means losing to Buffalo).
*Want to know how big of a 'Skins fan I am? I accidentally wrote losses.

You know I actually think that we could sneak in at 9-7. But not by losing to both the Giants and the Cowboys again. That would leave us 1-5 in the division.
Realistically, the only team that IMO could do better than 9-7, starting from where they are right now record-wise are the Lions, but they play Green Bay twice, Dallas once, and at San Diego. I actually think they have a good chance of finishing 8-8. And even if we were to both go 9-7, we would have the tie-breaker.
So, aside from the Lions, you have the Cardinals who are 5-5, but we have the tie-breaker over them, so they would have to finish 5-1 to beat us (assuming we finish 9-7). And actually that is a very real possibility, since they have 4 very winnable home games (49ers, Browns, Falcons, and Rams) and two not impossible away games (Seahawks and Saints). I think they could go 5-1, but more realistically could wind up 9-7.
Then you have the Eagles, but they have to play the Patriots, the Cowboys, and the Giants, so I think the best they can hope for is 4-2, with 3-3 much more realistic. This is where the division record could come into play,
All they others (Bears, Vikings, Saints and Panthers) suck way too much to finish the season 5-1, much less 6-0 (which is what they would need to wind up 10-6.
So, all in all, I think our main focus should be ourselves. We have 3 difficult games which we cannot afford to lose. At Tampa, at the Meadowlands, and the home finale against the Cowboys. If we can win 2 of those (preferably the two divisiona games) and 2 out of 3 of the rest, I think we could make it.

3-3
Wins over Bills, Bears, and Vikings
Losses to Bucs, Giants, and Cowgirls.
As much as I was impressed with our offense this past Sunday, our defense still gives way to many big plays in the 2nd half of games. They will cost us this year after looking so strong in the beginning.

i think that all of our games left will depend on the performance of the defense, especially in the second half of games. the offense has shown consistently that it can produce over the last couple of games; clinton portis is starting to find his rhythm, execpt for his performance in dallas. Joe Gibbs also needs to start making the right calls and decisions during the game so we have a chance to win. I think we will go 4-2 but it will be difficult. Greg Williams needs to do something to improve the pass defense; the coverage definately needs to improve; T.O absolutely shredded it and we cant let joey galloway and the other recievers to do the same.

Started this season thinking we would be 8-8. Still thinking we will be 8-8. Offense is in the ascension, defense is in the decline.

5-1.
Our loss isn't gonna be to Dallas, either. It'll be to New York.

If very optimistic is 4 - 2 I'm going with my heart and going super-duper over the top out of the world optimistic at 6 - 0.
I'm also w/ flave that I doubt 9 - 7 gets the Redskins a playoff spot.

I don't know about that. Try looking at the schedule of the Lions, Eagles, and Cardinals.
And, frankly, what on earth so far has given you the impression that the Skins can go 6-0 the rest of the way?

4-2, the next 2-3 games I think we'll drop one b/c we just dont have the players to compensate for the loss of ST and to a lesser degree even Rogers. Once Randy and ST return by Chicago or the NYG game we should start hitting on all cylinders. I think we'll drop one of the next 3 and one of the last 3.

Agree. With some of the wraps off the O but with the D second half challenged IMO it will come down to things like the 4th and 1 calls. Does JG dare to win?
