We truly thank you for the sympathies and condolences. These kind of tragic and senseless acts put life in perspective and just don't come into play regarding football.
Of course we mourn the loss of Sean Taylor the football player. He gave us terrific highlights, added spark to our defense, and became the premier face of the Redskins, dare I say, the new Mr. Redskin. Shy to the media he was, he had his reasons and we the fans also supported him in that regard.
Sean had a troubled past, but overcame that and all words, indications and comments from people who knew him as a friend and teammate clearly has shown he overcame the troubles. If there is one thing you can take from here, and feel free to share it with your fans, is that the reputation and troubled past of Sean Taylor were indeed int eh PAST and Sean really did turn his life around. His 18 month old daughter was a huge part of that transformation along with his close friendships with Clinton Portis and Santana Moss. Does it make a difference? No, in the reality of life, no, Sean was a human being and Sean was one of us. BUT, please feel free to pass on that the reputation Sean developed early, was not who Sean was yesterday. Sean was a friend of many, a great football player, a terrific son, and a father to an 18 month old daughter.
We weep and mourn his loss, not as a player, but as Sean the person. We extend our gratitude and appreciation to each one of you in our time of grief. You as fellow football fans know how we as fans can become attached to our players. It's a sorrowful day in Redskins Nation and your kind thoughts and words have helped many here and for that, we say, THANK YOU!

All Cowboys/Redskins bs aside, sorry to hear of this. I've seen Sean Taylor play several times up close and in person and dude was this young man a player. Too bad it had to end like this. Last year I had the best time I've had at a Boys/Skins game thanks to this fan in the Taylor jersey holding the helmet. Anyone recognize him? Can't remember his name but I can say this guy and his friends made the trip from DC and they were funny and classy as can be! Again, sorry for you alls loss.

New England Patriots fan here ... My condolences to the family of Sean, the Redskins organization, and all the fans. I was a big fan of his and badly wanted Belichick to trade up and grab this guy from the U of M. The Redskins ended with this special player instead. Still, I often checked out his stats and wondered what could have been. He will be missed by all.

To the fans, friends, teammates, and family of Sean Taylor:
I would like to give my condolences to everyone effected by this loss. The entire NFL community is now learning of how great a person Sean had become since the birth of his daughter. We are all shocked by what has occurred, and we share your pain. Our thoughts and prayers remain with everyone associated with this young man, whose life was taken from him much to soon.
Rest in Peace Sean. You will be missed, but will not be forgotten.

Hey Guys. I'm a Miami Dolphin fan and usually post on another Fins forum, but as far as I'm concerned, today there are no teams. A member of the NFL family and the human race was taken from us in and I am deeply saddened. As Dolphins fans we've been bickering about trivial things like records and standings, but something like this puts one's priorities in order. All of you, and especially Sean's family and friends, have my deepest sympathies in this time of loss.
R.I.P. Sean Taylor

New Orleans Saints fan here, on behalf of the Who Dat Nation and my forum whodatzone.com, we are in disbelief and are grieving with Redskins and football fans everywhere. We'd give Sean a 2nd Line Jazz Funeral if we could. Godspeed #21... We haven't felt like this since Sam Mills died.

Thanks man. It's been pretty brutal around here emotionally, not just because we lost Sean the player, but Sean was really developing as a fine person and his daughter did all that and it is just heartbreaking. Your words do help comfort hailRedskins.com members, please believe that
