On behalf of hailRedskins.com, we remember two years ago!

It is hard to believe that it has already been two years. It seems like a few weeks ago, I came into work and received a call from my boss to turn on the TV. At that point one plane hit the Tower. I thought to myself, what a human error that must have been. 45 seconds later, the second plane crashed into the other tower, forever changing the face of America, the Skyline of New York, and the fabric and core of the United States. Right there and then, we ALL knew, this was not a error of a plane instrument or human error, this was something grand, soemthing tragic, something devastating, something pure EVIL!

But, nothing was more wicked and truly sad like the live picture of the Towers coming down. The devastation of a city and the loss of thousands of lives. The pictures of people jumping from the building will forever be etched in my mind. The thoughts of the New York Police, Firefighters and Port Authority officials who risked themsleves to help others was truly inspirational, and for one solid moment gave me hope in the human race, showed me that people do genuinely care, and showed me that this country, despite all the differences, can pull together and acheive whatever we desire.

Let us never forget. let us continue to remind our kids and future grandkids, or current ones at that, about what 9/11 meant to you as an American, to the fabric of this nation, to the defense of freedom, to the inner soul of this great nation.

Why must we remember? Because from generation to generation, we keep forgetting what made this country great, we forget those sacrifices that were made for the freedom we have, elsewhere in history.

When my daughter came home from school yesterday, she told me that flags would be at half mast, kids were suppose to wear red, white, and blue, and that at 846AM there would be a moement of silence. I told her, you know what that is GREAT! Do you guys do that on December 7th? She looked at me with a blank stare and said, ummm, no, why would we?

Seems we have forgotten about Pearl Harbor!

I wonder what she thought
as she stood there, strong and tall.
She couldn't turn away;
She was forced to watch it all.

Did she long to offer comfort
as her country bled,
with her arm forever frozen
high above her head?

She could not shield her eyes,
She could not hide her face,
She just stared across the water
keeping Freedom's place

The smell of smoke and terror
somehow reduced her size.
So small within the harbor
but still we recognized

How dignified and beautiful
on a day so many died
I wonder what she thought
And I know she must have cried

Dec 7th, 1941 should never be forgotten either. Great point Mark.

All I can say right now how much I love America. I'm proud to call USA home and I'm thankful for all that comes with being an American. From the outside, I'm sure people from other coutries see us as brash, cocky, and loud spoken. I call it being proud to be an American...

People in other countries actually pulled together with us after this happenned, which is why I look at this as humanity thing in general as much as an American thing.

God Bless America.

We ask the Almighty Creator to keep sacred the souls of those whose lives were ripped from us on that fatefull day.

And, we cherish their spirit; for it is their spirit that strengthens our resolve and fortifies our vigilance.

We pray for their families and friends that time will ease their sorrow.

And we speak with one voice to the world,
We will seek a terrible and swift vengence against terrorists and those that support them!

And if the child has forgotten, or does not know, whom do we blame? We can only take a child aside and reveal the history of that day that lives in infamy and unite these two terrible events.
I am accustomed to being "forgotten" and by some, even disdained. But with undiminished fervor, I try to teach the lessons of "my war", as well as all the others of our Country, to those who will listen. For it is in the understanding of our history that our children will go forward to make a better world for all of us!

Well said! And my daughter (16) is proud of her father who served in Vietnam.

I remember sitting in class, and feeling the shakes from when the plane hit the Pentagon, didn't know what it was till a couple minutes later when they said the Breaking News.

My father was actually coming home on Shirley Highway South, and saw the plane flying, said he thought something was suspecious considering it was flyling parallel to the Highway, and then of course he found out what had happend when he got home.

I guess this would be a nice time to share the little 911 video I made, didn't make it for anything, just made it out of the blue one day.

Let me know what you all think:
