on Cliff Russell;
"Right now he is the fifth wide receiver out of five on the roster. He is being kept around because he has tremendous speed but at this point in his career he seems to lack the necessary instincts for the game. He probably has about another year to show improvement in that area before a decision will be made pm whether to keep him around any longer"
on Steve Spurrier;
"I think he is still trying to decide whether he likes coaching in the NFL. A lot of the fun in coaching is tied up in wining, and we should know by the end of this season whether Spurrier and the Redskins are at least moving in the right direction. I think his relationship with Snyder went through one difficult day this pre-season when Spurrier was forced to cut Danny Wuerffel, but overall I believe that relationship is solid. Spurrier seems to get along very well with his coaches and I would say he has a typical relationship with his players."
on Snyder keeping Spurrier;
"Yes. If Spurrier is not the coach of the Redskins at any time before his five year contract expires I am almost certain it will be because Spurrier decided to leave, not because he was fires."
