Ok, so what the heck happened??? I watched the game on the NFL network but before I knew what was happening Bumble Gumble said they couldn't show us that. I saw a guy run onto the field and sort of dive at a players feet but that's all I saw. Anyone have the story on this???:sfight:

I was wondering the same thing myself while watching it live. Thought it was the kickstart our whole squad needed. For people who know the culprit please share. Entertaining nonetheless.

I was at the game and saw the entire thing but it was from a good distance, as I was on the opposite side of the field. The guy came running (stumbling) out and it appeared that he was trying to tackle one of the Bears players. he bounced off the player like he would off a brick wall and than got tackled by what looked like four PG County cops. A struggle ensued and more police and or security may have entered the mix but finally the carried him off in a hogtied fashion. The dude writhed and got dropped on the sideline and probably further pummeled. I stopped paying attention at that point as the play resumed on the field.

That's the way the dopes on the radio described it. Hogtied and carried off. They had a ball with the whole affair. The radio announcers, that is.

yea, i was at the game. He ran on the field, got tackled. Then they had him parallel to the ground. Two people held his two arms, and two others held his legs.
I don't know what he was doing, he wasn't naked or anything, so it wasn't that. Also the guy actually knocked over one of the officers when they had him contained (im thinkin he was on some drugs cause thats crazy strength, like PCP or whatever).
Anyway, i thought it was funny when i got back from the game and watched the tape of it i had they showed him in the hallway being takin by his hair. that must hurt!!!

from the little bit they showed on tv it looks like he was going after chris samuels....(i think that samuels got beat on the play before that caused a running play to get blow up in the backfield, if I remember correcty)
on tv it looked like he tried to tackle samuels from behind but he just bounced off and feel down.... he got back up and lunged for samuels and was taken down by the cops before he could embarass himself anymore...

It all happened kind of fast for me, but once we all figured out why there were cops on the field and such, it was really, really funny.

Was at the game. The Skins from what I remember were lining up for a play. The guy came from the corner of the end zone. it did look like he headed for a Redskin but it happened so quick at that point. I got the impression he was maybe just trying to say hi to the Skins not tackle anyone. The cops surrounded him got him cuffed up. They did have to carry him off the field. Did not look like he went easy. They were at the opposite end of the filed from the tunnel so they had a long ways to go. They did stop once or twice to reposition things. I was watching between plays with binoculars. I don't think there was any pummeling going on.

This kinda stuff really isn't funny and I'm glad they don't show it on TV. Whose to say that guy didn't have a knife of some sort and stab one of the players. When I saw him appear to dive at one of the OL feet, I thought how terrible would it be if he took him out and shredded up his knee.

Good for Harris. And hope this doesn't affect beer sales. Everyone should not be punished for the action of one deranged person.

I was at a Red Sox game when a fan ran out on the field, picked up second base and lifted it over his head. It was very funny. The cops just took him by the arm and led him off the field. No manhandling needed, since the fan's mission was accomplished (a dare?). Even the players were laughing.
In an era of heightened security, this is a lot more dicey.

I was watching a tennis match on tv and someone jumped from the stands then stabbed my favorite tennis player (monica seles) in the back. That was horrific.

I always wonder about security in situations like these. Players could get hurt.

FedEx has very good field security, I'm really surprised this guy made it to the field. From what I know about the Danny, I'd bet someone got fired the day after and a new security head will be in place for the future.

For those who didn't get to see it, I hit rewind on my DVR and then grabbed my camera to record it:

I thought it was kinda funny at first because I thought it was just some drunk fan having a goof, but then it seemed like maybe the guy was a bit psycho, which made it less funny and more scary.
(I don't know if it's okay to post a clip from the game like this, or if it violates some kind of NFL rule...if it's a no-no, can a mod please delete this post?)
PS This time next week that'll be a 42" HDTV...I hope. :)

They showed Snyder in the booth after this occured, he looked ticked off and embarrassed that they broke through his security.

man they finally let me out of jail for that one. I wanted to take on Tommie Harris and show our O line how to throw a block. Then the police really tried to go to work on me just to put on a show for the fans. But once we got down into the stadium, we sat and laughed about it, they gave me milk and cookies and i signed autographs for their kids. But they said that Snyder was not happy because i didnt do it naked, and requested i be put in jail. Crazy life. JK. Happy monday.

So this was a strange motivational tactic for you? Well at least you didn't do it during the final drive to stop Collins from getting the touchdown and thus allowing Chicage to come back and win and make our players feel better..........

I didn't see that part. But me and my buddies did rewind and watch the incident several times. After he hit the ground initially it looked like he could hardly get up and didn't muster too much of a fight after that. Edit: After watching that clip, I guess my recollection wasn't as good as I thought, as the guy never hit the ground initially, only stumbled.
After the threat of anybody being hurt had passed, it was really quite amusing, although Snyder didn't appear to think so.
To us it appeared he ran out towards Samuels and at the last moment bypassed Samuels, and tried to lay what appeared to be a hit, or perhaps a block :whoknows: on Tommie Harris just to be repelled. The funny thing to me was is didn't even look like Tommie Harris noticed the guy until after he had made contact with him, or right before, so Harris didn't even really brace for contact, and still didn't budge one bit. Just like he hit a brick wall. And the guy was rather large too.

He needs to learn how to attack like a cheetah. Go after the old or weaker of the herd. Heck, Brunell was just standing around bundled up on the sidelines......easy pickins'.

This got me thinking about the policy of TV to not show fans running out on the field. Here's a naked man running out on the field during a Super Bowl recently. It was censored on U.S. TV, but this foreign broadcast shows the entire hilarious thing.
