read the madness (http://www.profootballweekly.com/PFW/Fantasy+Football/Fantasy+Extras/2003/matchups2.htm)

Patrick Ramsey struggled in the second half of Washington’s win over the Jets and finished with 185 yards, one touchdown and one interception. His lack of arm strength and sense of the pass rush raised a few red flags. The Falcons can bring the heat, so keep Ramsey out of action this week.

Baffling. Simply baffling.

Kenny, did you quote that article directly? If so, then you must have missed the typo. The article mentioned Patrick Ramsey. They must have meant Danny Woeful:D. In all seriousness, I think it goes to show us all that these "national" media sources glaze over each team, but don't really know any team all that well. We who actually FOLLOW the Redskins are the EXPERTS, while these writers are the REPORTERS.

I guess they saw the error and changed it.... Now they are talking about his lack of accuracy as opposed to arm strength!

Yes, someone in the editor's office must have finally did their jobs and they are trying to cover their tracks:

Patrick Ramsey struggled in the second half of Washington’s win over the Jets and finished with 185 yards, one touchdown and one interception. He clearly looked rattled in the face of the Jets' pass rush and his accuracy and poise were not the same in the second half, raising a few red flags. The Falcons can bring the heat, so keep Ramsey out of action this week.

They lose credibility in my opinion. Anyone who saw Ramsey's first completion to Coles knows he can flat out bring the heat. Champ said he was just below Favre on velocity. That, my friends, is humping.

They say the Falcons can bring the heat, but what about covering.

Amazing stuff. I find it very funny that they changed their article and had to find something else negative to write about.

And I suppose they missed pass rush that didn't "Rattle" Ramsey when he dodged the pass rush and hit McCants in the back of the endzone for a TD. Oh, and the one where he ducked beneath the pass rusher to hit Coles for a 48 yard completion.

Just like someone said earlier, these guys do nothing but brush over teams that they know nothing about and put it in their papers, magazines, or on the internet.

I saw the initial posting [about lack of arm strength] and considered it so preposterous that I didn't bother to post it here. I normally consider PFW the best souce for pro football news, but even the best have bad days. [Except for me, of course.]

Ramsey still threw for 57% in the 3rd quarter, which was better than his average last season.

He did have an INT...but aside from one errant pass he wasn't that bad.

Lacks arm strength? We drafted him BECAUSE of his arm!

The interception doesn't really bother me because I know the old ball coach is coaching up Ramsey and Gardner to avoid that from happening again. Ramsey never looked to the other side of the field and Gardner never came back to the ball, which all great WR's do, to create separation from the himself and the DB. So, with some coaching for both of them, that type of interception should not happen again.

I can't believe they let the arm strength statement through. What a crock. That's his biggest asset. His accuracy is pretty good too.

He only threw 9 passes in the second half. Kinda hard for PFW to evaluate him when we are in the 'Fun and Run'

Yes, very amateurish. Ram's second half wasn't stellar, but it didn't need to be.

anti-Redskins media will be anti-Redskins until Snyder sells or until a new, younger, more brash owner comes along to target

Ok Ok Ok-..........

Man have I had it with all the Patrick Ramsey Bash-Wagon crappola.......

Ramsey has great arm strength, and very good accurracy......To support the fact his armstrength Spurrier would typically throw him in last minutes of a game to throw the infamous "Hail Mary".........

Now do You REALLY THINK Spurrier would make a move like that if Ramsey DID NOT have the arm strength to make the throw????

Here is My 10 cents: I think Ramsey is good QB, and is quickly becoming a better QB..........Will he ever be a "Hall of Famer"??? I cant say for sure-but let's give the kid some time this only HIS 2nd season!!! It takes some QB's at least 2yrs to mature to the level that they will either be GREAT or DECENT or Crappy QB's......Let's sit back & watch.......And grab us some of the BIG W'S this season!!!!!!!

GO SKINS!!!!!!!!

Amen Death_venom, and welcome to hR. Glad you joined us.

We can't even call it his 2nd season because he hasn't a played a full season. I think alot of us have seen something in the young man that we like. He's smart, he has a arm and he's accurate. I for one really appreciated that throw to Coles after dodging a defender and being off balance. As alot of people have said here, if it weren't for the defender getting in the way, that was a TD. I believe this kid will become one of the good ones and like you said, we have to give him time. Errrr, we also includes Spurrier.
