Minnesota Mike

I braved the snow and cold yesterday to represent the 'skins last night. I was there in my 44 Riggins jersey and my 12 year old daughter was sporting her 47 Cooley jersey. We were in the upper deck in the corner opposite where Cooley got his TD. I was loud and proud! On more than one occasion during the during game I heard "sit down Riggins!". I did not comply with the request.

We were joined by a couple of Packer fans, sitting next to us and pulling for the 'skins. There was a good bit of Burgandy and Gold in the crowd.

Obviously the game went well. The Smoot INT sure got the crowd into a sour mood, almost as much as Vikings running out the first half clock without taking a shot deep. That really annoyed home fans! I thought the place was going to clear out at half time. That didn't happen until the 4th quarter. By the 2 minute warning the skins fans had the place to ourselves. A number of Minnesota fans did shake my hand and wish the team luck next week. A glass rum bottle did crash to ground and shatter right next to me at one point in the 4th Quarter. I told my daughter it probably was just an accident, but I don't actually think it was.

All things considered it was a great night! It was great to see the skins live for the first time in a long time. It was also great to see all the BnG in the crowd.

Way to represent Mike. It was mentioned on the radio that there were a lot of Skins fans there.

I'm sure Smoot got a lot of crap on the sidelines but that INT had to make him feel good and the Minn fans feel bad. I laughed when it happened.

Way to represent Mike - Especially like the fact your daughter was with you.
Couldn't of asked for a better outcome - well that bottle thing seems a little scary but otherwise a good time.

Well done, Mike. Glad to read you're raising another generation of Redskins fans, too.

Thanks for sharing your experience with us MM! Sounds like a great time. I wish we could get some snow. At 63 degrees, I doubt it's going to happen this christmas. :)

That's awesome to hear. Way to represent bro! We need more road warriors like yourself in visiting crowds.

Well done!

We had the game cranked up, on the surround sound, and I swear that we hear "Hail to the Redskins"

Any truth to that, or were we hallucinating?

I like hearing game experiences like that. I know the Redskin fans were out because I could have sworn I heard some Coooooley on his TD reception. Way to represent man!

My thoughts exactly. I'm glad the team held up their end of the bargain for you and the ruim bottle would have made me livid and wanting blood. My thought is that I'll never take my daughter to a pro football game.

Sad.

Great account of your game experience. Thanks! NBC showed clusters of Redskins fans twice that I saw. "Sit down Riggins!" is a pretty funny heckle, actually. Could've been much worse, lol!

I thought I heard a "Coooooooley" too...and maybe a little "Smooooooot"? Is that actually the case or wishful thinking? I'm going to go back on the Tivo and try to catch the "We Want Dallas". I was hoping that would happen. Does anyone remember when they heard it?
