I know this will probably turn into a Campbell vs. Collins thread. But I wanted to post this from JLC's blog. I think it is impressive that JS is coming in on Christmas eve to take treatment and at least trying to be ready for tyhe playoffs.

Howdy and a happy day to all of you! Paul Tenorio is at Redskins Park and just saw the "other" QB...
Jason Campbell was one of very few Redskins that came in for treatment today; he took time to talk about his recovery, the team's recent success and the timetable for his return.
On how he's doing in recovery process:
"I'm doing pretty good, you know, walking and all, but we have yet to do anything on the field and to try to do any kind of running, so it's still hard to say. The hardest part is sitting back watching all this. We're having a lot of fun right now as a team, we're winning, and you feel like you're an outsider looking in, watching. But I'm just proud for our team. We've been through so much this year and for us to be 8-7 with a chance to go to the playoffs is a huge deal."

If we make the playoffs and Jason is 100% healthy he plays. This is his team. Anything less then 100% IMO he does not play.

He needs to be 101% knee ready. Anything less will hurt the team not to mention himself. He's our QB....see ya next season.

i would not expect anything less from JC.. he really is a warrior..

i just dont want to see him hurt himself or the team by trying to come back too soon..

It would be more news to me if he didn't come in for treatment. JC has a long road ahead to become the teams leader and sacrifice is only one mile marker. Good job JC, lead by example.

As for playing again this year... I think it would totally screw up our momentum changing QB's. I say we stick with Collins through the end of the season, whenever that may be.

An injury like that during the season is never a 100% recovery. He'll need at least 6-8 months.

I agree. Don't want him out there in cold weather with a freshly healed knee. See ya next season, JC.

If he's healthy he has to play. This is his team and he should be on the field. Hopefully the playbook doesnt go back to the conservative book from earlier this year if he comes back cause its obvious that Collins has the full arsenal to play with.

If he isnt healthy, he needs to sit. I dont want him doing what Brunell was doing by playing less injured and hurting the team just so he could get on the field.

Thanks for the update. Glad he is walking, but sounds far from being on the field taking hits. Better in the long run not to risk the franchise's QB.

Anyone who thinks he can come back this season if we make a playoff run, should read this information. The guy is simply months from being football ready for the knee.

Collins is our man for this season for as long as it lasts.

Let Collins close out this season no matter how far we go. Whether it ends next week or at the end of January/start of February.

Jason needs to get that knee 100% for next year.

Yes, his knee couldn't care less if it was the 24th or 25th - he needed to do that on a professional level. Knees and other joints have no sentimentality.

Collins to finish the year, and hopefully JC will learn a lot by watching whatever good things Collins does, like how important accuracy is for a quarterback. Not that I am slamming him, but a cannon arm that is accurate is the best weapon!

As I stated on another thread, you go with your hot hand regardless. If JC does become healthy, keep him at # 2 just in case. I trust Todd a lot more than I trust Brunell.

I agree and I also think he needs to continue to watch things from the sideline and see how this offense is run. He can learn a lot just by sitting and watching and observing.

No need to rush things when sitting could very well be the best thing for him, next year though he's the starter, no questions asked imo.

No question for me, Todd has to finish the season as well as he is playinbg and JC needs to get completely healthy for next year.

I am always torn with this. I think if Collins does not turn the ball over in a win against the Cowboys then he starts in the playoffs. He has played flawless at the position to get us there. Jason is not quite as safe with the football. Against the Seahawks, we need to be safe with the football or they will hurt us.

I sure hope to see JC back asap (1000% healthy of course), mostly because i don't have a lot of faith in Collins. Well, let me clarify, I do have confidence in him.... that is until we play a game where there is any wind at all (remember New York people!!!). The only reason we won that game is because Eli "crybaby" Manning really sucks and no one from NY realizes that yet. Hopefully our remaining games will be played in wind-free conditions to prevent TC's fluttering lob passes from being blown into defenders grapse's. I think we can all agree his execution of the offense has been flawless. I only hope and pray there is no wind.:giantsuk:

If the wind is as bad as it was in NY there aren't to many QB's that are going to look good.

He played well in Washington when it was cold so I don't worry about that at all.

Collins has been tremendous, we are lucky to have him.

Could it be that Todd is peaking at the right time in his long career? lol

Bram believes we will stick with Collin's

If Jason Campbell is healthy enough to play in Seattle for the first round of the playoffs, there is no certainty he'll get his starting job back.. Joe Gibbs called Todd's "leadership the least couple of weeks a big deal." He said there is no decision to be made about who will start as Campbell has already been ruled out for the Dallas game and the Skins still figure to need to win that one to get into the postseason.. It sounds like if Collins continues to play well, he will not lose his job to a healthy Campbell..
