View Full Version : Need some CP-HR Debate topics
for Cowboys-Redskins week. The idea is to have debate threads where CP'ers and HR's would vigorously debate high mutual-interest topics....on both sites. I'm also challenging the CP'ers to come up with some too.
Today is Wednesday and given the ramifications of this game, surely we can get some cross-site action going BIG TIME! Heck...I don't even see any good TRASH TALKING! :)
Thanks in advance for your topic suggestions.

While I still hate the Cowboys, it's hard for to talk a bunch of junk about them with their fans. With the way you guys were over Taylors death, i'm finding it hard to talk smack about you guys. Plus, you're 13-2 and we're 8-7...lol
Here's some topics:
Who has the better future, Romo/Campbell
Who has the better owner?
Who has the better fans. lol
Witten or Cooley?

Better future? hmmm thats tough...I'm gonna go with Campbell. I love his arm and attitude. He works SO hard and I think he has more potential than Romo. I think the accuracy will come. Believe it or not he's STILL trying to figure out this 700 page playbook. Also, I'd like to see him get rid of the ball quicker.
Better owner? Dan the man! Jerry Jones is just a jerk. It's hard to make the case that Dan is better though, because of the lack of super bowls. I think Dan is just now really starting to understand and get it! He's also a great person.
Better fans??? Are you kidding me....of course it us!! I've never seen more bandwagon fans in my life for Dallas. They are the biggest bandwagon team in the nfl. Plus, we're terrible every year and somehow sell out every game in a stadium that seats 90,000.
Better TE? Cooley. Believe it or not, I'm not biased lol. Witten is a better blocker, but Cooley is a better receiver. I think if you put Cooley in Dallas' offense HE'D be the one starting the pro bowl. I just watch both with my own eyes and I see more things Cooley can do than Witten.

those are some tough questions!
1. Romo has had a lot of success, much more than Campbell, but when he has a bad game, it's really bad. Plus, Romo has had a better supporting cast this year, and Campbelll has not had those terrible games yet. i think they both have really bright futures and i'm looking forward to a long rivalry there, but deep down, i would not trade Campbell for Romo straight up right now, so that's how i would answer the question.
2. probably the 2 most controversial and influential owners in the league. i think Snyder is developing a deep bond with Gibbs thru all the adversity of this season, so here again, i would not wish for any other owner right now.
3. i think the Redskins have always had great fans, with constant sell-outs and a long waiting list for season tickets, no matter how good or bad the team performs.
4. Witten has established himself as one of, if not the, best tight-end in the NFL, but every Redskin fan i know loves Cooley, and i still would not trade him for any other tight-end in the league. he has to play tightend, h-back, fullback, and receiver, and block in pass protection, and he does all of that consistently well.

I personally could never log onto a Cowboys forum. I would feel all dirty inside and out.
With Dallas having very little on the line come Sunday, I don't see where there is a point in debating or smack talking about it.

Normally, i'd agree with you Keino. But CP is a completely different type of MB i've ever seen. They have a Cleveland, Pittsburgh, and other team fans on their staff as Moderators.
CP is a great place to go and talk about football. I didn't feel dirty at all. :)

It's called Cowboy Pride, is it not?
The only pride I take in Cowboys is seeing them scalped.
Honestly, I thought it was awesome the way their members reached out to us, but for me, I cannot and will not go to a Cowboys forum. I hate that Blue Star that much.

Going to a Cowboy site no matter how well it's run is like going to a Duke site.
I've tried it in the past but all you end up doing is banging your head against the wall, it saves a lot of trouble if you just avoid those types of sites.

lol that was pretty biased. romo will have a better future. campbell will be good, but he needs to decrease his turnovers and increase his TDs b4 he can be compared wit romo. daniel snyder IMO is a better owner now because he choses to sit in a corner and just do whatever the staff tells him to do, while jerry jones is alwasy in the media and always talkin and in the way. i believe our fans are better of course, lol, but thats because to be a skin fan, u have to be a very patient and loyal person. there have been so many bandwagon cowboy fans, its amazing. and i think witten is a better overall TE than cooley. both are great, but witten is a complete package

Oh you guys...dare to break paradigms. CP was built from ground up to be hospitable, respectful. and INCLUSIVE to fans of all teams. CP, while rooted in the Cowboys, is designed and managed to offer something to fans of all NFL teams and many non-NFL teams. Other Cowboys sites hate our guts for that. As CarMike indicated (Now this is unprecedented), we have a STEELERS fan admin (tech advisor), a BROWNS fan forum mod (NFL Discussion), a CHARGERS fan writer/forum mod (TH'S NCAA Emporium), a BROWNS fan GFX guy, a STEELERS fan forum mod (Fantasy sports), and a GIANTS fan forum mod (Ship's House of Hockey). We also have a STEELERS fan on call who helps us out when needed with sigs and banners. We had a VIKINGS fan on staff, but he turned out to be a pervert so we dumped him. You've never seen anything like it! Our most staunch Redskins hater is in a thread RIGHT NOW, yukking it up (and drooling) with CarMike over a pic of CM with 3 FINE Redskins Cheerleaders. Now...will we talk trash? Of course....but it's restricted to non-personal and limited to one forum.
You oughta check us out just because you'll experience something radical and unique. Deb and I built it that way and our staff manages it that way. I've been giving every HR member that I can identify, $10,000 in CP bucks for showing up. You can use it to bet ON THE REDSKINS (and/or other teams) in vBookie, buy team logos, give each other gifts, or get bonus rounds in some of our zillion arcade games. Just PM me or ID yourself as an HR member in our new member forum (The auto-greeter will lead you to it) and I'll give you the $10,000 in v-cash. I DARE YOU!

Reg, seriously, I really do appreciate you and Deb and everyone from your site, especially with your words to us during a very dark hour. However, the 10K....Hell you can offer me a Million. The Burgundy and Gold in my veins will never allow my fingers to type or link to a Cowboys website. Ever.
I hate your team that much.
I won't even buy my children a telescope, because I don't want them admiring stars. (Okay, that was a slight exaggeration)
