View Full Version : How Snyder can actually help the team win this week...if he's man enough...

Yes, I think Dan Snyder can actually help this team win on Sunday. (Please note: much sarcasm to follow)
See, I think the wildcard of the game is Brad Johnson. Now, I'm sick of this guy. I'm sick of his childish bitterness and his baby-like antics like wearing the Redskin jersey last year. I want him to experience pain on Sunday. But I KNOW he will be coming off the bench fired up and full of the usual hate because of how Snyder treated him on his way out of D.C.
(And yes, I once thought he had a right to be mad about that. But after he won the ring with Tampa and THEN came back and crushed us in '02 or '03, I thought that should have been more than enough for him to get on with his life, but obviously he's still bitter.)
Anyway, here's what Snyder should do. And don't get me wrong, I'm not saying he should MEAN any of this. It would just be a great mind-fu...uh...game. He should go to Johnson before the game and apologize. He should tell him he was a fool to favor George, he should tell him he mistreated him and took him for granted and tell him how much he's learned since then and ask for his forgiveness. Maybe even throw in some free tickets to the next Tom Cruise premiere, along with some Scientology paraphernalia if he's feeling crazy. Whatever.
The point is, by doing this, he takes Johnson's edge away, and that's the ONLY thing that Brad Johnson might have at this point that could come back to haunt us: his continued, juvenile bitterness and his thirst for revenge over perceived wrongs done to him almost 10 years ago now. Johnson would be so confused at that point, trying to reconcile a week's worth of preparation to get his final revenge with Snyder's apology and appeal for forgiveness, that he would probably come out and throw two picks immediately. The Redskins would win the mental game with Johnson before the actual game even began.
So in short, Snyder needs to suck it up and take one for the team. If we win, he can hold his own presser in a Brad Johnson jersey if he wants to and laugh dementedly. Whatever it takes....

How about the team just not let noodle armed Brad Johnson beat them. Snyder should not apologize to a former employee for running the team he paid in excess of $500 Million for in the manner in which he saw fit.

Brad Johnson doesn't remotely scare me. Once Romo isn't playing, the blitz is on.

Terry Glenn is the one who scares me. Not BJ. And even then I'm not really skeered.

LOL.. Screw Johnson. Don't be so fearful of a loss that you ask Snyder to apologize to him! Sheesh! ... If I were Snyder I'd walk up to him and say "Damn good thing I got rid of you, and I’ve never had a second thought about it" ... really piss Johnson off and then let the Skins level him into the dirt and make him cry like a baby……

Groveling to Brad Johnson would be a joke. Brad Johnson has barely enough arm strenght to hand off let alone present any type of deep throwing threat. How about Brad Johnson go and apologize to Snyder for never throwing over 5 yards and maybe Dirty Thirty will only knock him out instead of ripping his head off.

maybe Dan could go up to him and say "Hello, Danny - just wanted to bring you some tissues before kick-off", hand him a small pack of Kleenex and walk away laughing :Partybig:

I think he should send a memo to Gregg Williams with a postdated million dollar check. The Note Should read:
"Dear Gregg,
If you lket Brad Johnson shred your pansy arse cover 2 schemes then you might as well cash that check because you will never be head coach of our team.
Sincerely,
Your boss
PS I have some vanilla ice cream for you as well"

The post was meant as a joke, guys, geeze. Hence the Tom Cruise/Scientology references.
I just thought it would be a funny mind-game to play on Johnson, especially if it was totally insincere. It could even end with Brad weeping in Snyder's arms, saying "all I ever wanted was for you to love me, Mr. Snyder."
I just think Johnson's grudge is ridiculous at this point, so I thought it deserved an equally ridiculous resolution.
That said, I certainly don't discount what Johnson can do to us if we can't get to him. If we can rattle him like we did in '04, we should be fine. If we let him dink and dunk on us like last year against the Vikes, we could be in trouble.

why not just place Brad's name in the Ring of Fame and hang the sign on by two bolts...
or have a velcro piece placed over Dusek's name and pull it off after Landry knocks him cold?

Nope, for me having Smoot pick a few off will be enough...Smoot being a player that was released but was thought of enough to be asked back, unlike Johnson

I liked Brad Johnson when he was here but the bitterness in his heart is silly. He needs to grow up, he's a grown man acting like a 4 year old. He's acting like someone took away his toy, just grow up.

You know what I always hated about Johnson? And I used to vent about this when he was still on the team, so this isn't hindsight stuff.
When he would have a bad game, he would NEVER take any personal responsibility. It was always, "Well, WE didn't do well, the team made a lot of mistakes today." I never once heard him say, "I didn't play well today, I need to do better."
When you win, you credit the whole team. When you lose, you take responsibility for your own play and blame yourself if you didn't perform your best. Johnson always seemed selfish to me.

i am for that.. let GW put johnson on his backside a couple of times and smack him around.
he hasnt played qb in a game in over 1 year and his timing wont be the greatest. get in his face. dirty his uniform (you know how he hates that)
he is going to be playing with a reserve center. line landry right over the nose and come right at him a couple of times
make him pay the price and let's see just how tough he really is...

West Virginia still needs a coach. Danny should hook Wade Phillips up with the job tonight, and tell him to bring along all of his assistants. They need to get to work on a game-plan for the Fiesta Bowl pronto! And Danny can hook them all up with nice bonus checks, provided they quit their jobs at Dallas before midnight.
JJ can coach the 'turds on sunday.

hmmm, and our own TC didn't play in a game in 10 years.. anything can happen I guess. That's what makes this game to hard!

I think Danny should put a bounty on both QB's. No, I'm not talking about injuring or trying to injure them, just sacks. $10k for each sack, under the table of course.

:lol1: I am thinking more of having Danny call up Brad and tell him that he's convinced Jerr-uh to fire him - again - in exchange for a 2008 6th round pick. Maybe just use a Trump "You're fired" voice over. His whining makes him worthy of a good beating about the head and shoulders.
Really Johnson is more like Collins than anything. He is dangerous for the same reasons. Brad is adept at finding the open man and hitting him on time. About the only way you cross him up is changing looks just prior tot he snap, which is risky in its own right. Blind-side pressure works when you can get it. I am thinking a 2004 flavor corner blitz and a Landry delay middle blitz. If they can loosen a couple of his teeth early the rest of the game becomes a lot easier.

Brad Johnson really isnt that good anymore. If our defense struggles with him then we have no business being in the playoffs. Funny post though, lol.
