I cannot for the life of me figure out how how a smart man like Snyder can be so ignorant. I know egos can get in the way or reason but you don't become as wealthy as Snyder thinking you are smarter than everyone else.

Couldn't agree more Dave. It's like the Redskins is his own fantasy football team. And he's not going to give up any control of his team.

I know Gibbs had a lot of control, but even Jerry Jones realized that he needed a Football guy(parcells) to turn things around after several loosing seasons. Jerry Jones even won 3 superbowls, so you would think he would have been even more hard-headed in making a change. Loosing will eventually make you change your ways.

1 big difference between the skins and boys, is that the boys fans are fare-weather fans, so if the cowboys arent winning the fans stop going, it affects JJ pocket book, unlike Synder who gets all the money no matter what. Win or lose.

I really agree with this statement. As soon as Danny's wallet gets affected, he will change his tune. Until then, we are going to be mediocre.

Well he brought in Joe Gibbs and gave him all the control he wanted, I'm not sure what else he could have done short of hiring a GM. I think we all agree having a GM would be the best but it's not going to happen for whatever reason. Hard to rip the man though for bringing in a Hall of Famer and letting him have whatever players he wants.

I think a mistake fans make is ripping Snyder for the mistakes Gibbs made. That's not to say Snyder hasn't made mistakes but he brought in a football person to run things and it still didn't work.

Gibbs was brought in with total control of all things football. If Cowher comes here he will want the same thing - and get it.

I don't think the title is important, just the idea that the owner is not making decisions about which coach, player, assistant, etc. to hire. You hire a savvy football guy and give him a title that let's everyone know that he's the final say in all things personnel related, including the hiring and firing of coaches.

If they don't have one by title, they have one in theory or at least a competent VP of Player Personnel. We have Danny and Vinny. Ugh.
