good balanced write up.

I really wish meeks or grimm were serious candidates. I am on record as not wanting GW but I am not sure Mora is the answer either. I would love an offensive coach to come in, revamp the offense and let Blache be the DC and keep continuity on defense but use the players correctly.

id like Mora or Meeks as the coach

i just dont see us winning anything with Williams as the coach

4 long interviews with GW, Danny flies out to Seattle and back with Mora Jr and has him stay over his house...
Snyder's courting rituals for a coach are weird. What kind of treatment did Schwartz and Meeks get. And I'm still curious about the mystery candidate (Russ Grimm?) who was interviewed.

IO think it is real telling that all 4 coaches named in the interview process were defensive coaches. It tells me that Saunders is getting control of the offense and they are trying to find the best HC to mesh with him.

Maybe the reports of the rift between saunders and williams are true?

(I know caldwell was in the mix for a while but I never thought that was for real because of his expected ascension in Indy)

anyone know whioch of these guys are 3-4 guys and which are 4-3?

Williams is a 4-3, same with Caldwell.

I think Meeks is a 3-4,

what about Mora?

Mora Jr would be a great hire. Just because a lot of redskins fans are biased to what they want doesn't make it the right decision. I will support whoever the skins go with. We all may be in for a huge surprise maybe they will go with the mystery candidate.

Meeks got the sleep over treatment too. He and Danny even spent half the night making crank calls to Cerato.

LOL, I heard when Mora Jr slept over, he and Danny placed a bunch of 'for sale' signs in front of GW's house.

Interesting that no one in this thread is stepping out in support for Snyder after what was written.

PSF, I think that was en extremely fair account of Snyder's growth over the past few seasons. If we are gonna burn him at the stake for all the stupid things he's done, we have to give him some credit for his role in getting us to the playoffs 2 of the last 3 seasons. I think he has learned quite a bit during these last four years with Gibbs and I think (hope) we will see that manifest itself in the wake of Gibbs' departure.

IMO, his search for a head coach has shown growth. He's taking his time, covering all the bases, and hasn't even considered the biggest name out there (Cowher). I like his deliberation on this, because choosing the next coach is paramount to the direction of this franchise in the coming years. If we get this wrong, it will be extremely costly, and he is aware of this fact.

Just wondering, was Mora the DC or was he just the defensive backs coach? The write up says he was the DC and I'm pretty sure he wasn't.

What does this say if it is true. Why are we talking to Kiffin. I think Williams is gone.

And it is believed that, as recently as this week, the Washington Redskins discussed the possibility of hiring Kiffin as defensive coordinator, even though they have yet to settle on a successor to head coach Joe Gibbs.

The Reskins have their name dropped any time there is speculation about FAs and top flight coaches. I wouldn't put any credence in this, whatsoever.

I think it is extremely significant that Snyder has been looking at mostly Defensive Coordinators for HC. This either means that he wants to hire GW as the HC, with an DC underneath him; or that Snyder is really looking for a defensive-minded HC from outside the organization.

It tells me that Danny may be trying to keep Saunders but bringing in new blood on the defense.

The article is by Len P. He lost all credibility when it comes to reporting anything Redskins related.

I find it laughable that he is willing to sign off on that rumor (as is his editor) even though none of the local beat writers have even hinted at Kiffin? Good journalism is dead.

I don't think you can use the words "good journalism" and Lenny P together. I saw the article but am not convinced the Kiffin is the mystery interviewee. Articles in Arizona also say Grimm wasn't the guy either.

What if it were Clancy Pendergast?
