Betts, Moss, Brunell, Collins, Washington, Griff, Carter, Rocky, Reed and Springs should all be talking to their agents right now.

I don't think he's going to stick around in the 3-4.

Oh, the 3-4. I don't think he even works in the 3-4. Don't you need a better run stuffer in 3-4?

They could probably ask him to play OLB in the 3-4, and yeah, I don't think he would like to play that again.

He played some in San Fran. I don't know if he was effective at all though.

Yep. Thats the whole job of the DE in the 3-4.

More importantly, he hated playing it in. He'll make some cap concession to get dealt.

So you're sure Ryan switches us to 3-4 rather than using a 46 or 4-3 base? Ryan does not strike as one of those guys that is dead set on one style.

I don't like the prospect of switching to 3-4. Surely it would need a massive overhaul of the front 7.
I believe Carter is the only one who has played 3-4 before and as has already been said I doubt he will want to make the swith to OLB again.
We have no clear nose tackle and there are non in the draft. Who would play end? Daniels is pretty much done and I don't see Griff or Monty being a decent fit to play end
At LB Rocky wouldn't be suitable to play OLB and I doubt he can play ILB. Fletcher could still play the other ILB spot but he has no experience there.
Looks like there would need to be big changes made.

I think he will go with the 3-4. His 4-3 looks are really more a 3-4 with a OLB putting his hand down-which is why he likes DTs on the LDE spot.

1. We have an NT: Golston. He played in UGA.
2. There are actually several in the draft(Red Bryant, Jason Shirley, Marcus Harrison, Frank Morton and Trevor Laws)
3. This is how our current personnel looks for the 3-4:
DE: Monty
NT: Golston
DE:
OLB Chris Wilson
ILB: London Fletcher
ILB: HB Blades
OLB:
CB: Carlos Rogers
CB: Fred Smoot
FS: LaRon Landry
SS:
Doesn't look like a major overhaul for us.

I had no idea Golston had played NT in college.
Still, I don't know how easy the transition is going to be for some of the guys with non of them having played 3-4 before.

VanGorder(and his successors) at UGA played a very similar defense to what Ryan played at Balto, only with the 4-3 being the main set. Its a flex 3-4/46 defense.

Suggs would fill one of those holes. He'd love to stay with Ryan.

suggs has stated multiple times he really is excited about the prospect of going back home and playing in Arizona....
which i am not sure is going to happen because if baltimore can't resign him i seriously doubt they don't franchise him...
and there is no way we are going to him draft picks up for him let along be able to afford his contract.

i am also not interested in Ryan if it is going to cost a draft pick.....
wouldn't be surprised if you end up working out some wierd kind of trade/deal with the titans were we get Schwartz for Williams (as mentioned in JLC's latest blog)

Yeah, I'd rather have Clark haggans for 1/3 the price.

Chris Wilson - OLB?
Elephant position. Thats the attacking LB spot in the 3/4. Wilson has a great chance to succeed there because of his speed/quickness.
