So this means the only available candidates as of right now for us are Fassel and Meeks?

Still holding out hope for Spagnuolo but it'll probably be Fassel.

I was intrigued with Schwartz, but I never thought he had a real shot lately. I'm hoping Meeks gets a shot.

Uhhh... Unless I am missing something, Schwartz could sign a 10 year extension and still leave for a promotion.
That said, I don't want him.

He only got one interview. Never was a serious contender. He's dead to me now.
Still think it will be Spag, with Meeks as a possibility if he does well in his interview.

your right, but generally you don't sign an extension if you think you got a chance for the job. which i don't think he does, 1 interview awhile back, and not even rumors about him. so he was pretty much out and this probably is the nail in the coffin for him being our HC

I really think this limits it to Spags and Meeks. I know everyone is still thinking Fassel is a lead candidate, but I think Blanche was promoted because we are going to hire a defensive minded head coach and let Zorn run the offense. Almost exactly what Dallas did when they hired Garrett to run the offense and hired a defensive minded guy in Wade Phillips. Blache will be helping install one of the other guys defensive systems.

Looks like it is between Fassel, Spagnuolo, Meeks and any mystery candidate. As between the 3 of them, neither Meeks nor Spagnuolo have done it long enough for my taste, and I don't want Fassel because of his Giant connection, and some of the issues that came up when he was the HC there. I would like to know more about Meeks, I know he is an up-and-comer, but I don't want to run a Dungy-style Tampa Bay defense here. We are not built for that.

Well there goes another candidate ... I'm glad Snyder is waiting to interview Spagnuolo, but I can't see him coming here with the coordinators and staff already in place. Why isn't Rex Ryan's name being floated around, seems like we are only hearing about Spag, Fassel, and Meeks.

They talked with and about Rex Ryan when Fassel was the leading HC candidate a week ago - as a DC, not as a HC. Not sure why he's not being considered except he is a 3-4 defensive guy.

i dont think ryan was ever in consideration as a HC
that will come next year if the ravens defense flourishes
it DOES speak against GW landing with the titans in any capacity

apparently snyder said something like hes hiring coordinators based on who the interviewed candidates said they could work with, or something to that extent. but since we havent talked to spagnuolo maybe the hired coordinators would be a drawback for him. at this point meeks may be a serious contender for the job, and i believe has a good reputation working with DBs. also i hear/read nfl network was saying we tried to lure pete carroll to washington recently but he wasnt interested

i hear the rams were interested in williams as a position coach, and maybe thats why tennessee wants him as well. but the jags do want him as d-coordinator. but wouldnt it be something to see him end up as a position coach. i think denver has a dc opening as well, tho not mentioned as a suitor, its possible he could end up there as well...

Titans have too much Talent on the Defensive line, not GW's cup of tea.
