I think it will be Mariucci, I hope it will be somebody else, maybe McDaniels. Honestly, I don't like any.

Mariucci - After watching the way this team has been assembled, and listening to Mooch on the NFL network today, I'm very much leaning towards this choice.

I think it will be Mooch but I'd prefer Fassel. As I have said before, either is like choosing between leftover meatloaf or leftover salisbury steak.

So are you saying that Danny is going to sniff the two and decide which of the two smells better?

I want (and voted) spags...but I think it will be mooch.

My thoughts exactly and to be honest I kind of like it. I know he was bad in Detroit but my gut tells me we're going to be ok if we hire him.

ditto. The telling sign for me is that they are waiting until after the SB and the staff is being assembled [presumably with the future HC knowledge].

I think it's gonna be Mariucci.

I have been thinking the wrong way about the coaching situation. Stupid me, I was thinking what I thought would be best for the team. What I should have been thinking is, "What will Vin-Snyder think is best for the team?"

You have to think that Gibbs recommended Williams. I'm pretty sure that's true. And I think Vin-Snyder thought about it, and decided that the departure of Gibbs should signal a change, a change to the West Coast Offense.

Bottom line is I think Vin-Snyder is the schmoozey type of guy(s) that would fall in love with the dashing good looks and snappy repartee that a Mooch would bring to an interview; as well as the fact that Mooch was the QB coach early in the career of Farve, and We (the Royal We that is Vin-Snyder and us) would love to coach Campbell up to be the next Brett Farve.

Therefore- Mooch is going to be the new HC IMO.

That and everything I read in this LINK. (http://blog.washingtonpost.com/redskinsinsider/2008/01/something_to_chew_on.html)

La Canfora usually knows what's up.

Now do I think we have the CORE players that you would want to build a WCO around- No. Does that matter? Nope. I just hope it all sorts itself out soon.

Yea, that's what I think too. I just don't see Campbell as a WCO QB. If he couldn't be better than avg. in AS's O I don't see him doing that well in a pure WCO; he's just not that type of QB.

But of course I'm just a fan (just like the owner) what do I know.

I like Mooch, think he'll do a good job here. In Detroit, he had a terrible team. Our sqaud is much more better

Why, do you think WCO more difficult than AS's system? Its not. WCO maybe one of the most QB friendly there is. It takes time to master, but so does every other system.

JC already ran a version of the WCO. WCO runs best with a mobile strong armed QB. Think McNabb and Steve Young. JC has both of those.

Seattle operated in a heavy run version of the WCO (remember Shaun Alexander?), which I'm sure will be used here.

Steve Young didn't have a strong arm. His arm was adequate but he had great touch, something JC does not have any of, just like McNabb. Jason's mobility may not be as good, at least not for a while. I wonder if he'll be wearing a knee brace now.

I would not be surprised if they hired Ron Meeks. He has a pretty substantial resume. Dan must have talked to Jerry Jones about hiring techniques.

Strong arm doesn't hurt. Just ask Brett Farve.

with Mariucci - he only won when the 49ers were cheating the salary cap in the 90's. He failed in Detroit.

with Fassel - he won with a REAL football mind in charge named Ernie Acrossi. Synder and Cerrato can not be compared to the abilities of Acrossi whose team that he built by the way is playing in the SuperBowl.

The west coast offense and Redskin football does not go together.

The next three years will be Synder's teenage wasteland until we start over again.

Williams should have been named coach with Saunders remaining OC. Collins should have been resigned and given the starting QB because the last four games of the season was the best offense we have seen since 1999 (Norv and Brad Johson). Campbell could have waited another year due to his age. You play to win the game not season a QB.

I think we screwed the mooch on this one.
