I was so spent after the game, I thought about taking a room in town but sucked it up and drove on through to Carolina. I hope it was as exciting for y'all as it was in the enemy camp! btw It was like 3/4 full there. I moved down to better seats near the 40 yard line.
I read the grade thread and pretty much agree with most of the assessments. The offense was good (Coles is worth twice the money!-How about that RB tandum!) but our O-Line is out of whack. Speaking of which, that's the sound you heard all over the Dome when Ramsey got pounded, which was too often. The play calling and execution were outstanding.
The Defense changed the game. When Arrington popped thier rb for a loss, it really pumped up the Team. The defense played a lot better and forced that long FG-which they missed. The rest of the game, our LBs and Safties were tough MoFos!
The guy sitting next to me early in the game asked me "Why the Redskins were so bad?-They have some really good players" (This was early in the pre-game) At the time I just shrugged (cause I did'nt want to get all puffed up at him before the game even started) but later as we were down by 17, I thought about it and talked to him some more. ( He turned out to be a decent fellow) One thing he said was, "alot of punters come in here and think there punting well cause the ball travels so far in this place. Thing is most of them start line drivin it and we get some great runbacks" He was being obvious after the fact but it still was anoying because our punter and st still suck suck suck! In fact anyone who gave the st above an F on the Grade Thread should be forced to eat 20 lbs of Georgia Dome Dogs and walk home! When our TEam was starting on the 20 and there's is starting near midfield, we can't compete. I don't know the stats yet but being there, you can sense the tension of the offense when they're pinned deep. You can see the frustration of the defense (cept Armstead, he's cool as a pickle). I be they stopped every drive that did'nt begin near midfield. Barkers punts were long but so damn what, the Falcons ran the ball back every time. The Feely guy was punting long too, but his were also HIGH. Barker Sucks! I hardly blame the O for the turnovers. The momentum is against them the crowd is stoked, even without being full it was loud. Thier D was extra pumped... Thank goodness thier ST acted like ours and touched the ball on the kick or who knows. and If all y'all who live near D.C. are not throwing rocks at our st coach's house tomorrow, I'll be disappointed! One more thing and I'll stop bitchin (It was a long drive ya know!) Maybe I was in the bathroom, but I did'nt see any penalties against the Falcons. I swear we had 100 (maybe not swear but...)
We won this game because of some outstanding players. Ramsey, Coles, Gardener, Canidate, Betts, All the linebackers, Bowen, Ohelate, Hall and Champ (Ha Ha the Price is Wrong!). The same fellas as last week pretty much. To be able to overcome the worst special teams (excluding Hall, Lavar does!) in the League is incredible.
Whoa, sorry, that was pent up over a few hundred miles!
