Important Tailgate Info: PLEASE READ!!

Folks,

Here's the deal. By now, you all know that I work for FedEx, so I'm aware of some of the inner- workings of the FedEx way of life. To get to the point, there is a dilemna upon us.

With Isabel seemingly ready to cause some type of havoc Thursday and Friday up and down the East Coast, I'm pretty certain at this point that FedEx will experience some type of service disruption on either of those days. We will not let planes fly within areas that are affected by this weather beyond your normal inclimate weather. Meaning, if winds are howling and rains are pounding the coast, FedEx will be slowed by this, as will every other delivery service of this type.

I bring this up because of course many of you were depending on FedEx to receive your tix Friday since the soonest I could send them out would be Thursday. I'm confident that they will still get to you, but they could be delayed, and depending on when you planned to leave to head to DC/MD/VA this could be a problem. I offer you three choices.

1) I keep your tix and you get them from me at the Tailgate.

2) I keep your tix and place them in Will Call at the stadium where you can pick them up on gameday.

3) I go ahead with the original plan and send them out to you via FedEx.

Keep in mind that all of this could change depending on the track of the storm. Of course none ofthis is concrete as far as the delays go because Isabel could change course. What I propose is to give it a couple of days and see what is what, then let me know what you would prefer me to do. Remember, I'm here to do whatever it is that you prefer. I work for you in this case.

Okay folks,

I'm happy to say that I have everyone's tix in hand as we speak. The tailgate will be occurring in Green Lot near sign C21. For those that will be catching the shuttle bus, once you get off the bus and proceed towards the stadium, you will turn left when you get to the street that circles FedEx. After you clear the last set of fenced parking lots on your left, walk to your left towards the back of the parking lot that you will be near. You will see C21 on the light pole (hopefully Isabel will not blow the signs down). If you have a parking pass, from Landover Rd come down Brightseat towards the stadium. Go past the first Green lot and an area of fenced grass, turn right into the next Green Lot. Proceed along the fence line until you get to C21. The signs may say D when you first enter, but you will eventually see C21.

Lastly, if for some reason you do not show up before I have to leave to go inside, I will take your tix to Will Call and they will be there under your name. You will need ID to claim them.

I'm a tourist coming here so I have no clue what is up?
Do I need one to get into the stadium lot to tailgate?
Do you need one if you want handicap parking?
I know a lot of questions but please enlighten this dumb old soldier.

The color of the pass is where you park. Go to Redskins.com and look under FedX / Parking. You'll see the lay out of all the lots. You DO need a pass to park in those LOTs. Handicap - good question. I would call the stadium and get some information on that or maybe Kenny or Mike know.

I think you guys are starting at noon, is that right? I'll be tailgating in another area, arriving at the stadium at around 1:30, how long will you guys be going for up to the game. I do want to stop by on my way into the stadium with a couple of PA brews.

Kenny and I will have to go into the stadium at 2pm. We'll also be partying it after the game as well. So you know, we normally party until late. Be prepared. The band will march around the outside of the stadium so be prepared for that as well. That's normally an hour before game time.

Look guys, there is an issue that has arisen. h2s and I have to get to the stadium at 9:00am to take care of some "classified" Redskins business. Everyone should proceed to the area that I told you about around 12:00-12:30. If for some reason we aren't able to get back outside to you guys before 2:00pm, we will have someone to man the grill up till that time.

Also, when the game is nearing it's end, please come down and get a good spot at the area behind where the band sits. We (percussion section) will perform a show afterwards in that area.

Lastly, I hope you guys will be able to enjoy the postgame portion of the tailgate also. Historically, that is when we have the most fun, so please allow some time to party after the game too.

Mark, you freaking punk, you better not leave early. If you don't stick around for the postgame tailgate there will be hell to pay!!!

This might be a little late but if you're driving to the tailgate and you have a green parking permit, the best way to get to the parking lot is off Brightseat Rd. If you're coming from the Beltway, take exit 17B Landover Rd.. You will come to a light with Landover Mall on your right and stadium will be off to your left. Turn left at that light on Brightseat Rd. The stadium will be straight in front of you. Come through the first light and you will begin seeing Green signs for entrances to the parking areas. You want to proceed straight ahead and have the police wave you through. Once you're pass the police, get in your right-hand lane and you'll want to turn right in the Green Parking Lot marked D2. Stay along the fence line and come to the end. That's where we'll be.

If you're driving, I would recommend that you get there as soon as the lots opens because it'll fill up fast. They normally open 4 hours before game time. Sometimes they'll open an hour earlier.
