When I went into work on Sunday night, I had 3 different employees ask me "Who in the hell is Patrick Ramsey?" (Remember, I live in Iowa) Feels good telling the story.

I was talking to my friend from FT Myers the yesturday he is a big Dolphins fan and he watched the Jets and Falcons game ,...

He asked me where Ramsey went to college and when I told him he said ...

"That guy has a cannon"

I just laughed....

Yes, he is an unknown to alot of people. I recruit at his Alma Mater and the next trip I'm going to wear his jersey during my presentation.

The only thing scary abotu this is the Giants will be coming to FEDEX pissed off. That can be bad or can be good, however we take advantage of that.

They can be mad all the want. We need to take care of business and they'll really be pissed because they'll be 0-2 in the division.

OK, I probably would have liked to see the cowboys eat dirt, but 'settle' for sole possesion of the division.

God was that UGLY!!

They were calling pass interferance if you looked at WR to hard.

agreed hail2skins, if we handle our business, it won't matter if they're pissed.

The Giants will be focused for this game but I believe we can handle it. since our line feels like it has something to prove, they also will be focused. If the giants d- line cant mount a rush, no way they can beat us.

This is my fear as well. In football, if one team loses one week (that is good) they usually win the next. Since two good teams are going against each other, I hope we stop that trend. It concerns me that the Giants may play with more heart than the SKins since we are in the drivers seat and they are looking up at us, and got embarrassed in front of the country with a loss to the inferior cowpatties.
As long as we come out with the same intensity as the second half, there is not a team in the league that can beat us. Hope Spurrier has his motivating hat on!

PSF and Jsarno, I'm with you on the Giants will be ready to go after a loss mindset. How we can combat that is with great execution. Follow the gameplan and use our weopons wisely.

Absolutely...
and as usual, that rests almost solely on the QB's shoulders. Hope he's on!

If we can win 3 out of our next 5 tough games I will be happy... entering the bye week 5-2and probably in first place will be a hoot!

If we can do that, I'm sure chants of super bowl will be heard loud and clear on this site!

If the game was in New York, I would be a little worried, but I see the Giants coming in frustrated more than anything. The fans at Fed Ex will be fired up for this one as they welcome back their first place Washington Redskins. With Dallas and Philly being off this coming week, the Skins could put a little distance between themselves and the rest of the division. I know it's still early but a win would go a long way as far as tie - breakers and etc.

It doesn't even have to raining. did you see the stats the had on MNF about Tiki's Fumbling. He's had 28 since 2000, next closest RB was R williams with 16.

WOW! he need to look up Lester Hayes and see if he can borrow some "Stickem"

Being frustrated & pissed is definetly BAD NEWS for the SKINS........Yet the SHORT WEEK will definetly be a favorable factor OUR (THE SKINS) FAVOR........Harass the living HELL OUTTA COLLINS-.........And keep your eyes on Shockey-......And lets hope Spurrier has some tricks up his sleeves.......

BTW: Spurrier aint no Norv Turner (who I despised for decay of BELOVED SKINS-Norv couldnt motivate a wet paper bag.....)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I expect Bowen and Ohalete to make Shockey realize it's no cake walk.
Even the Cowboys made him think a little!

Spence

Shockey is a major concern. He caught one TD pass on Monday night. He should have caught two.

Question... is it me or do the Eagles really stink? McNabb doesn't resemble the QB he was in his rookie year (yes, I know it's only been two games, but this guy seems to be going backwards). Reid hasn't settled on a running back and who knows if he really does have one. They lost Hugh Douglas and Shawn Barber, two losses that appear huge at this point. Also, Brian Dawkins is out for a few weeks.
Are the Eagles going to dig such a big hole that they can't make the playoffs?
One other thing, how long until the Redskins and Cowboys flip-flop with the Giants and Eagles in the NFC East? I think it will be so good to see the rivalry come back strong especially when games mean something.

Spence

Interesting points. I think it is far too early to count the Eagles out yet. They've still got a terrific quarterback, though he is struggling right now. They are still coached as well as any team in the league. I think they underestimated the importance of some of the players you mentioned; players that have left. They've been devastated by injuries, too--must not forget that. In addition, I don't really see a lot of playmaking ability at the offensive skill positions.

Yes, and how should we cover him? Champ and smoot can easily stop the WR's...and the LB core can stop Tiki...but who is there to stop Shockey?

lakeanncrew,
The eagles are overrated. I said this in preseason to many complaints. No they don't stink, but they lost waaaay too many key players to continue their success.
Reid's play calling is a bit suspect right now too. They are still a good team, just no longer an elite team.
I felt in the preseason it would be a 3 way run at 1st place, and it still appears that way.

Great news! I'm glad others share my sentiments about the Eagles. I really think if we swept Dallas and split with the Giants and Eagles (that's six wins if you add our 2-0 start), then take care of Chicago (that's seven), we'll be in the hunt of a playoff spot. We just need to steal two or three from NE, Seattle, Miami, N.O., Tampa, Buffalo or Carolina. So that means going 2-5 or 3-4 against those teams.

Man, do we have a hard schedule. It's almost unfair. I know I'm looking far ahead, but the skins have given me optimism to look to the future, something I haven't done in years. I've waited 12 years for an 2-0 start, that's a long time. I'm going to take advantage of this and gloat a little bit.

I believe the Eagles are going downhill as well and I attribute that to poor play by McNabb and some questionable play calling by Reid. He is a good coach but I believe he let's them down as well. You also have to factor in that they don't upgrade at positions when they lose people. As Spence mentioned once, they don't have the playmakers around McNabb that they need.

TexSkin

A little too early for any doomsday predictions for the Eagles because of Mcnabb. They did play 2 dam good teams but I thought for sure they would win at least one of those, since they were at home. I wonder if any of the players over there miss the vet. :)

09-17-2003, 02:24 PM
I'm not saying they're not a good team, I just don't think they are what alot of media made them out to be. I do expect them to be in the hunt though. If they don't do it this season, then they'll have to regroup.

jsarno
09-17-2003, 03:18 PM
If you remember, before they became an elite team, they "experts" said they didn't have enough around McNabb too. Ido agree that they don't...but THEY don't. They lost some key players and never filled them back in. I don't think they will do any worse than .500, but this is a division without a clear leader now. Hopefully the SKins will start a domination of their own!

The rest of teams on Phillys schelule smell blood. this could get ugly for them.
