I recieve a NFL Week in review from The Sportingnews.com every Tuesday and it had the Skins at #4!!

It was tuff to find the direct link (Sportingnews.com use to be one of my favorite web sites -- now they have merged with FoxSports and it seems like they charge for everything now--you click on a link and page pops up wanting you to pay money for the story/info (fantasysource was great, now they charge)

I digress -- here's the list, followed by the link to the story:

David Moore reviews Week 2 in the NFL

September 16, 2003

Top five teams
1. Buffalo Bills (2-0): Average margin of victory has been 26 points
2. Kansas City Chiefs (2-0): Defense is no longer an anchor around Priest Holmes' neck
3. Indianapolis Colts (2-0): Tony Dungy's defensive principles are beginning to take hold
4. Washington Redskins (2-0): Steve Spurrier has discovered that the run does help balance offense
5. Carolina Panthers (2-0): Beat Tampa Bay at its own, low-scoring game
Bottom five teams
28. Cincinnati Bengals (0-2): At least the Bengals were competitive against Oakland
29. San Diego Chargers (0-2): Thought dumping Junior Seau and Rodney Harrison was supposed to make the Chargers better.
30. Cleveland Browns (0-2): How much would Jamal Lewis had gained if he didn't make the Browns mad before the game?
31. Chicago Bears (0-2): An 11-point loss to Minnesota qualifies as major progress
32. Arizona Cardinals (0-2): Next team to score 35 or more points against Arizona is Green Bay

#4 is too high. I love my Skins, I love this streak and the start at 2-0, but they have beaten a bad Jets team and a beaten up Falcon team. No doubt this team is improved over last season. BUT, beat the Giants and then beat wither the Bucs or NE and then we'll seriously begin talking about ranking this team in the top ten.

As much as it pains me to say it, that's too high. At the most, we should be in the low teens right now. Nothing more.

I agree. I put them below the giants.........until Sunday.

We are definitely improving each week......so far! So IMHO we should be ranked #11 - getting ready to break into the Top 10 when we beat the "Gints"!:D

The defense #4, the offense is lower teens. The team as a whole is in between. Good news is the offense should improve as all the new parts settle in. Our trajectory is up.

Ah who are we fooling?? WE RULE!!

Uh-oh. This is what I've been writing. Now that I see you agree I may have to reconsider...

The last thing we need is to have the media jump on our bandwagon too early. This #4 ranking is proof of that. Even us Skins fans know this is too high. One loss and then we become media fodder.

True we have to keep things in perspective and know that we are not the 4th best team in the league...not just yet anyway. We still have a ways to go but it does feel mighty good.

NOW I TOO will have to admitt #4 is too high, but like I've indicated to you - PowerPolls are opinions ONLY.
But they ARE fun to debate, aren't they?? LOL

I'd put us about middle of the pack right now...

Definitely high, but I'm sure none of our guys or any of us fans are going to get bigheaded after seeing this. I don't pay much attention to these power polls.... except the HR's!!! As a general rule, ratings systems are overrated.

I do have to agree with this part. That TSN website has gone to hell in a handbasket. FoxSports website was fodder to begin with and now they are dragging down TSN. I hate this merger mania, how it has reached the sporting world.

Yeah, #4 is too high. We don't need people jumping on the bandwagon this early because it'll be a huge fall if we lose against the Giants. The bashing would return real fast.

media fodder *lol* That's the truth. Those "Power Polls" are like flavors of the month. They'll turn on you in a second. If Patrick Ramsey got intercepted for the losing touchdown, they'd sell us to the CFL. "Snyder finding out he can't buy championships...". "Spurrier's still learning this isn't the SEC..". "Ramsey having a sophmore year...". "Cliche of day. Is way gay. If we say. It that way."

Those who stroke you up, will spit you out, like a hooker.

Wow, that's incredible.

Sportsline - how can ALL final four teams to the superbowl NOT make the top ten!! two games into the season!! Someone is fickle (*see hooker proverb).

I saw that one...an interesting formula, but it needs a few more games to calulate right.

Probably 10-15 would be about right. I'm happy they are 2-0, but I keep seeing alot of things you don't see top teams doing. Most of them are correctable, but you don't become a top team until they have been corrected.
