Its nice to see him make efforts to fit in with his teammates. Didn't take him long to follow the vets.

Well good thing we got the Horton kid from UCLA... and maybe UDFA Kevin Mitchell gets a shot now if Moore can't get back in less time :).

while I said this in jest...seriously...don't we do medical evaluations on draft picks? Why not?

we should have at least talked to his school or something right? Wouldn't this be on record somewhere?

Baffling to say the least...

not on the skin's nickle yet because he hasnt signed.. if it is not a big surgery, he would be ready for camp easily.

and doing due diligence ? how about the number 1 overall pick in the NBA draft (greg oden) needing surgery and missing the entire season ?

i am not that distressed by this except, it means they could likely have gotten him as a UDFA if people knew about it.. maybe other teams did ? but i doubt it because it would have leaked out

let's see how the surgery goes..

Horton might have a permanently disabled wrist.

Kinda like Rogers who has permanently disabled hands?

fused... like mcdonalds chicken mcnuggetts...

it makes him perfect for our defense.. he wont catch anything thrown his way, but will beat the snot out of anything in his area code

Since Basketball Contracts are guaranteed, and in the NBA you can almost never pass up the chance to draft a 7 Footer, especially one with Oden's skill level, it is not remotely the same risk. That player will be your property for the life of the contract and so missing year one, is not as big of a deal.

Seriously, we should just refer to our front office as Larry Moe and Curly.

The Skins had Kareem Moore in for a visit before the draft. I think they probably were aware of the situation. They probably told him to go get the surgery shortly after they drafted him.
No biggie, I remember trading 3 high picks for Brad Johnson and he showed up for his press intro on crutches.

It is possible that the skins knew about this and thought it was minor.

i tend to think you are right.. better to have it now than during camp...

I couldn't be the only one here who has had their knee scoped ... if there isn't ligament damage ... he should be fine in no time. Couple weeks and as good as new.

Wtf?

The bad thing is his unavailability (does anyone know if he has an injury history - I didn't find any). The good is he probably played thru it some of last year (toughness), and his rap for slowness may be modified if he was running injured.

he should be fine in a few weeks. he will probably come back stronger than ever after some physical therapy.

I hope he starts studying the playbook on his recovery bed because it's a short road to the final roster.

I'm not overly concerned... I doubt he would have started so might as well stash him and let him learn the ropes.

way to go deep and check everything out. However isn't it a little doom and gloom for the article to mention IR. Last I checked a knee scope doesn't take 4 months to come back from. Now he does need to be ready by training camp, but shouldn't that be plenty of time

I always thought arthroscopic was 2-6 weeks for recovery with 4 weeks being the norm. I had it done once and was back wrestling in 2 weeks.

He'll be ready sooner then Colt Brennan - hip surgery vs. knee scope.

If you watch the Blanche interview - they say they knew about moore's injury prior the draft, assumed that he would fall to the 6th round.

Watch the interview, its really good. Say's that the way Kareem Moore intimidate's people reminds him of one other guy.

I believe we went through the same thing with rocky and he has had more knee surgeries since. Don't draft guys with knee problems related to wear and tear...

Colt was not participating in mini camp, he is wearing sweats and just walking around, like rogers and mcintosh.
