Just Curious on your opinions.

I was watching the draft, and as our pick came closer i noticed someone on the charts that in my eyes we needed and couldnt pass on if he got to us.

Aqib Talib CB

although he got drafted at 20 by TB right before our 21st, what wouldve been your opinions if the skins did draft him at 21 if he made it there?

you know we needed another CB with Rogers status.

i havent seen his name thrown out here on the forum, and was just curious what your opinions wouldve been.

prefer the trade down we did, enough of defensive backs in the first round for me.

when TB picked Talib, then i wanted us to trade down. But if Talib wouldve lasted, i preferred to pick him

I'll take a WR and a TE over a questionable CB, but thats just me. I don't know if I would have taken Talib at #34. He has the tools, but he gambles so much that he'll probably be an easy target for a quality WR for awhile.

I would agree with u.

Talib is trash, he even no showed the cowboys on their local pro-day for all of the college invites. I know even will say YEA its the cowboys who would wana play there, but still you dont no-show!

It was reported here in dallas that Talib was taken off the cowboys draft board all together.

Not sure about Talib's deep speed, great short area burst but he got slow roasted by Nelson a couple times badly deep.

I think a couple underrated postion this draft are gonna show in the long run that it yielded better than scouted prospects.

I think there will be several starting corners come outta this draft I mean as much as 7-8 guys who'll be good.

I think wideout will have been a slept on area as well with several playmakers who weren'tthought of as 1st rd worthy.

I think DE will be as weak as advertized and will have shown us not reaching for one a good investment.

pass on talib in either round one or two.

he doesnt appear to be the same sociopath that pac man is, but he clearly has issues.. we will be fine at corner

i personally didn't want him, period in this draft. Not because of character issues, but purely on the field issues. he gambles alot, and doesn't have the fantastic talent to make up for it when he doesn't win that gamble. While he maybe one of the most talented CB's in the draft, i don't think his talent is extraordinary not is it elite.

If leodis or DRC was there i would take that in a heart beat. Especially with DRC, i think he will be a top corner for at least a decade to come. Jenkins, while he went at 25 to the boys, he definitely gave me a moment of pause when he was still there. I wouldn't have gotten on the FO, like NO NO WHY??? if they drafted him, but i wouldnt have been goin crazy as if we got DRC.

Basically, with the way the draft panned out im happy we traded down, but i wouldn't have been made had we got jenkins. Also, Talib, i wouldn't have taken him til middle the 2nd, which is where i think his true on field potential is. add the character flaws, and who knows where he be drafted.

Overkill. Character concerns first, necessary only if the fo knew Rogers wouldn't make it all the way back second. There is a need, but getting 2 2nds makes sense even if Talib available at 21. We have too many needs to get another 1st round DB (thus copying Millen albeit at DB instead of WR).

I don't really like what if's. They are hypothetical situations that didn't happen. So, it doesn't really matter.

Agreed. he was a second rounder at best IMO.

Talib was too raw...and had too many off-field issues for us to gamble the #21 on him.

I praise the FO for the trade down they pulled off. We still ended up with a 1st round prospect with our first pick.

We completely overhauled our offense by trading down. Simply put, we didn't have to tools to convert from Al Saunders to Zorn's West Coast attack.

To haul in 3 2nds with 1st round grades -- that was smooth. Hope it pans out, but that was certainly savvy.

As Mike Mayock said, a boom or bust draft for the Skins. But I say go for it. Load up on the best available and we'll do the same for the D-line next year!

I personally would've been very happy had we drafted him. I saw every one of ku's football games last season and he was absolutely on lockdown any time that he needed to be. He gambles yes, but he makes smart gambles that change games, look no further than the 1st half at Va tech for that. TB got a great cb that's going to fit in very well with their system, I expect him to be a #1 cb after kelly and barber end their careers, and a leader on the defensive side of the ball, as he was unquestionably for the Jayhawks.
