Say you were running a multi-gazillion dollar company widely regarded as a civic touchstone, one of the few things holding a diverse and fragmented community together. Say that another civic landmark--down on its luck, to be sure, but still with a brandname that resonates internationally in its quest for truth--was tasked, as one of its duties, with covering your company. Say that you didn't like how that media company was doing its job, that you particularly lamented the use of anonymous sources by one of that media company's star employees. How would you handle this potentially destructive situation?

What happened?I haven't seen the video yet so I can't say what is in it but the article does mention LaCanfora so I believe they are mocking him. Probably in reference to his use of anonymous sources and the fact that some think he's so negative towards to the team.

Jason La Canfora uses RI to excoriate the Redskins' front office on a regular basis, siting anonymous sources and distilled statistics to further his points. It's no wonder to me that the Redskins' FO would be somewhat unhappy with his reporting, especially at Redskin Insider, but that video was total bush league garbage. Larry Michael is an even bigger douche than JaLa. At least with LaCanfora, you occasionally get real news about the team not vetted by the team's PR department, although not so much of late.

He uses probably the most roundabout way possible to state something. It would take me all of about 3 seconds to tire of him in an in-person conversation, smack his bald head like Benny Hill would and tell him to get to the point.

Agree 100%. And why would they bring attention to themselves by airing this parody? If I was really trying to put on the illusion of being unfiltered...I wouldn't play around with comedic experiments. I'd be as factual as a could, as often as I could. This comes off as sour grapes to me (and poorly produced).

Of all the media members with a grudge against Snyderatto and Co., J-La-J-La-J-La-Sol is small potatos. Dan Daly is much more biased and openly insulting. Sally Jenkins is more gloom and doom and openly against the team's success. Why they have picked LaCanfora as their whipping boy is beyond me since he is, in fact, right far more often than he is wrong.

In the end, as aluded to above, bashing LaCanfora on their "interwebz" is definitely bringing a knife to a gunfight. The damage he could do to them in print using the Posts' resources is not insignificant. Especially if he bothered to leverage some of his brothers in media who also harbor grudges, such as Zimmerman, King, and Kirwan.

Are you kidding me? Larry Michael is an amazing reporter. That piece he did on Redskins TV on the conditions of the Redskins practice field during the rain was Pulitzer worthy. I quiver to think of how close to death he must have come in braving that slippery sod to issue his report.

1. This was the most long-winded and obtuse blog I've read in awhile - I guess he's taking some kind of swing at JLC of the Washington Post. It's a freaking Blog that about 50 people are actually going to read - just say what you think!

3. BL - the washington post and the Redskins have not been on good terms for a couple years. Perhaps it's because the Redskins have been a sub .500 for all of Snyder's tenure;

or maybe it's because bad news sells more newspapers.

JLC is not as talented as his processor. He's decent but not brilliant. I'll still read his articles, even if I think he uses these websites to mine his material.
