No. I think NOT lifting it will benefit Cuba.

I said No. Really don't know why after 40 years it just seems natural

I say yes because it should benefit us, and I don't really see why not.
Yes. It's rediculous that it's still in place.

I fail to see why we should.

The embargo has been in place in various forms for 40 years. The justification for the embargo has been twofold:
1] It will force Castro to liberalize his politics [hold real elections, allow freedom of expression, religion, release political prisoners];
and/or
2] It will force Castro from power.
After 40 years, the embargo has clearly failed to do either. What are we supposed to do, give it another 40 years? It hasn't worked. All the embargo does now is punish Cubans who do not have access to the hard currency black market and give Castro a false explanation for why his tropical communist experiment has been such a failure. To continue a policy which has clearly failed is irrational.
My recommendation: Lift the embargo and flood Cuba with American money, investment, tourists, ideas. Let's see how long Castro can put up with that!

Mercy, the man is 110 years old...let's wait til he kicks off and then we'll go in like the rotten American capitalists that we are.
That way we won't have the French mad at us.
And the benefit, besides the cigars, being that we free up the entire state of Florida for more grandparents!
