Have you seen him over the last few years? He has not aged gracefully. I would take a guess that health as well as not having a place with the new offensive staff, are the reasons.

I wonder if it is due to health as the timing seems a bit odd. Maybe he just realized he doesn't have much of a role in the new regime.

Edit- Seems my inclinations are the same as RR's.

The last time I attended camp was about 3 years ago and he looked extremely fragile then. The guy is in his late 60's so I think he is just ready to hang em up.

Always sorry to see the old guard go, hopefully it's just time and not a serious issue.

they mentioned a heart condition on the official site

good that he gets to enjoy his life without the physical stress of camp

I was just thinking about him this morning - wondering if he was still on the staff. I wish him well. Wish I could retire!

Don Breaux was always regarded as something of an offensive savant, especially in the run game and play design. Tom Landry, mhbih, had a similar reputation as a guy who could design plays for a particular defense that just worked.

I am sorry to see a guy with that reputation go, but since he has no history/influence with the current staff and no position to coach, I could see why he would want to hang-em up.

Good luck and good health, Don. We will miss you.

Not a good day when an experienced quality coach leaves the ranks but ones health always has to be considered a major factor. Don will be missed no doubt.

As one door closes at the Park and another opens. This is a great opportunity of some young upcoming coaching talent to step up and make a name for themself.

Let's hope for the best what ever direction the Skins take!
