The Redskins did nor deserve to win. Why?
1. Penalties - The team has no discipline
2. FG's - Can't really fault Hall as both misses were long range, but we need those to win
3. No Run D - Our run game was exposed. Expect more of the same in the future.
4. Champ got burnt for a TD by Toomer. I still can't believe it.
Next week is a must win for the Skins.

At least we got a QB to build around for the next 10 years or so. Alls we need is a d-line and this team might be ready to take it to the next level. Next year might be our year if we can resign Champ.

A must win against a Brady-led Pats team? oh my god.

The penalties have to stop, if we are ever to make it to the next level. This team has the fire, the never die attitude but we have to take the gun away from those who keep shooting themselves in the foot.

Champ is the best in the league and he can not be perfect every game, it is just reality

Im not sure we are facing a "must win" just yet. Granted, we need atleast 2 of these next 4 games (leading up to the bye week)... but if we only get 2... we are still 4-3 going into a pretty light second half of season.

If we are going to make the playoffs this is a must win

Champ was not to blame for that long touchdown pass. Didn't anyone else notice that Collins had all day to throw on that pass? [And many others.]

When your next four games are against NE, at Philly, TB at home, and at Buffalo, you must beat NE at home. If the Skins lose next week, they will not make the playoffs.

Also on the Toomer TD catch, why do you not have a safety over the top in 2nd and 20?

I think that's a bit over the top, but it's very important nonetheless.
Spence, Collins could have gotten a couple beers from the stands before he made that throw, but you could say that all day. Toomer beat Champ deep.

With all the problems listed above U have to add all the dropped balls. We dropped alot of well thrown passes today. Would have made a differece if we hung on to those.
It would be nice if we could find a Tight End who can catch something.

Missed FGs, one sack or lack of pass rush, Bailey getting burned (a couple of times), drop passes, coin toss, .... ALL those and some others if I were to take the time to think about it did not lose this games. BUT penities - JUST the first major one (Holding) which brought back a "FOR SURE" TD cost us 4 points ---- BALL GAME, right there alone.
That being said - according to Lavar (on the John Thompson Show, AM980) the team has divided this season into four quarters (like a game itself). The teams GOAL is to be at a minimum 3-1 at the end of each quarter. SO, this game coming up will mean alot to the team and I sure there taking it as a "MUST WIN".

Yeah, even Kenny said that holding on Samuals was the culprit that cost us the game.
The mistakes we make are what I can't understand. We talk about fixing them but it doesn't get done. Trotter and McCants and Samuals should all be fined for their dumb penalties yesterday. Also, why does our offense false start alot at home. There's no noise so what's with that.

Disagree. I think the stupid Trotter late hit cost us thegame, point blank.

I don't know Mark, that penalty on Samuals took points off the board for us.

It's a toss up. Trotter gave them a 3rd and 29! I think they scored on that drive and ate up the clock.

Yeah but our touchdown was taken back first. If it stands, we can survive Trotter's mistake and win without overtime.

Champ got beat. Plain and simple. He is allowing his playing to do the talking...so I will praise him when he shuts someone out...and I'll also yell when he gets burned.
The Pats game is a must win for us, IMO. If we lose this game, then we go down to 1-2 at home and we have to look forward to Philly on the road, Bucs at home and Buffalo on the road. The Pats game presents our best chance of winning, so we need to show up and get it done.

Guys, thing is with this team, they have a certain magic and if you can't see that, then i don't understand it. This team can be a very good football team, this team can play with any team int eh NFL, this team is good. The only problem right now is they play dumb! They make dumb mistakes that good teams don't make, point blanks and simple.

I don't want to get into the space-time continuum but I always feel mistakes later in the game are worse than earlier in the game. The giants would have had more than a half to bounce back from that TD and they could have, we kind of did...

I get your point but I disagree. It could have change the outcome of the game. I agree I don't like playing the what-if game as well. I want to get it out my system and concentrate on NE. It'll take a while though because of the lack of discinpline we say yesterday.

Doom and Gloom boys? when we've only played three games?!
This is ridiculous! How were the Giants any better then us yesterday? Because we had 2 more penalties then them?
Because Champ got burned once or twice? And don't say because they won, if the coin had flipped the other way we'd be 3-0. You guys are worried about Philly? I don't see the NFC East as our biggest problem this year. We need discipline, a better pass rush and healthy players and we can resume winning.
It's too early to say we're not gonna make the playoffs, way too early...

Giants were better than us yesterday because they won the coin toss. Our offense had them on the ropes. If we'd won the coin toss, I just can't see the Giants keeping us off the scoreboard. Their defense was on its last legs. But we cannot bitch and moan about one coin toss. We had plenty of opportunities to sew that game up and we didn't take them. The Giants earned the win. That drive in overtime, out of the shadow of their own end zone, was huge.

I too have to disagree with the title of this thread.
Samuels-4pts
Hall-6pts (on long ones BTW, not down on him a single bit)
My point is despite the penalties, despite the 10 pts I mentioned above, despite the 18 point deficit, they had to beat us in overtime. It may just be me at this point, but right now I think that the Skins are the best team in the NFC East at this juncture.

i think this is a must win game because if we win, it means we won the first qtr of the season. 3-1 is a great start for any team in the league. i just looked over the schedule again and it does not get any easier.

Champ go burnt for 2 TD's yesterday. His jock strap is still laying on the 3 yard line from the second.

I totally agree with you on your last statement. I've never seen the Skins get respect after a loss that I'm seeing. I saw Salisbury today on ESPN and he is praising the heck out of young QB. He said Patrick was his surprise player of the week.

Discipline - great coaches teach it to their assistants who in turn teach it to the players. And the WORST type of penalty is the one that takes points off the board
DUMB Penalities kill the BEST teams.
Now, onto NE - yes this is a critical game, but not the end of the season.
I like the idea of dividing the season into quarters - I believe it gives the entire coaching staff and team a more focused format. No looking over anybody or under anybody.
NE is a beatable team in our house.
