James Activated; Huntley Released
Defensive end Erasmus James has passed his physical and will be activated from the physically unable to perform list.
That means someone had to go and that someone is Kevin Huntley, a veteran defensive end who had failed to move up the depth chart. He's a DC area guy who had spent some time with Atlanta, but after the Jason Taylor trade and with James getting healthy, Huntley was expendable.
This is the news i have been waiting for. He passed his physical which is excellent news! Hopefully he can get a couple of snaps in sometime soon.

Huntley is also the guy who had the illegal hit against the QB versus the Bills. Good to hear Erasmus is coming along. Hopefully he will pan out both for himself and for us.

great news...I'm not expecting the second coming of Reggie White but lets see if he can make some kind of Impact this year as a situational guy a la Chris Wilson or Chris Clemons a few years ago.

Really hope they take their time bring him back. 100% he could be a real factor for the Skins - anything less they're just wasting time with him.

Because of the Jason Taylor trade, we can afford to do just that. I don't think they'll push him before he's ready, and they'll likely keep his playing time short to see how his knees respond. It's amazing to say that between him and Rob Jackson, I'm pleased with our DE depth.

Good news. You can just tell that the guy was itching to get back to practice while on the sidelines in camp. Hopefully we'll see some promising things from him.

I believe Zorn said there was a possibility he might not play and would look more to the following week to see him play.

Hopefully James can fill the same role that Justin Tuck did for the Giants last season.

No one queations the talent he had. Now he must prove that he still has the talent while adding durability. But not havinbg to play every down, and having good PRDEs in front of him, will allow the team to optimize his use and the opportunity for his confidence to return. A real good gamble for a conditional 7th.

E. James is just one of these guys with lots of potential who has this last chance to prove he can make it in the pros - in terms of play and staying healthy. I'd like to see him as a good backup to help keep both Taylor and Carter fresh in the game.
A real pass rush - what a concept!

Oh he can play ......... it's just a matter if he's made of glass or steel.

completely agree. but, he has never really been a dominant pass rusher.
perhaps some of it is the frequent injuries ?
but it will be interesting to see what he has to give

If Erasmus can stay healthy what he adds is a good, fresh pair of legs to a DL that could be damn good this season - with some actual depth.
Considering what it looked like just 2 months ago - this is a huge improvement. Teams are going to be thinking a lot about the Jason Taylor factor
