I remember Gibbs made reference to this last season and how Buges was dealing with it. Gibbs also stated that it had been hard for him as well since he's known Buge's daughter her whole life...I feel so badly for Buges and his family, this is not an easy thing to go through.

Aw, sad update....I just watched Buges with George M & Sonny and he was saying that his daughter, Holly, is in the final stages of the cancer. She's in hospice and no longer able to eat. If you've ever had any experience with the end stages of cancer, you will understand that she does not have long to live.
Buges looked thin and tired, but he was sharing a few happy memories about Holly and his family, and was talking about how he was already kicking butt back at Redskins park.
But, I'm surprised he came back if she is so close to the end...?

my daughter was in hospice and couldnt eat for due to liver failure, it is not good, there is a chance, small but still a chance,
sometimes it is hard to sit and watch someone die you love, (I went through that same thing) so you try to get away cause it is a bad memory to have of ur child gasping for air like a fish as i did with my daughter.
Sometimes i didnt wana be there for that.

I always wondered who the little girl (or I should say, the young lady) was in your signature es-I'm very sorry to know that she was your daughter. God Bless you and your family. She looks like she was joy....

I don't cry much, but your post touched me. Watching your child die must rank as the worst experience in a lifetime. Bless you and Natalie, both. My Natalie is 12, and I don't know how I could survive it.

thank everyone for the kind words and prayers and thoughts, i hope i didnt hijack the thread and take anything away from Buges and his family.
I just tried to give insight into how Buges could be back at work so fast.
A person can only take off so much from work and also some times the ending is known so the best way to deal is be back around work to resemble some sort of life.

My thoughts are with Coach B and Holly. Classy move by Dan to put his jet at Buges disposal.

My heart and prayers goes out to coach Buges and his family. No one should ever have to experience the loss of a child. Tonight especially I'm gonna make sure to give my boys extra long good night hugs each and really let them know what they mean to me.

RIP Holly, and my thoughts and prayers go to the entire family.
I have seen firsthand what losing a son is like to family, and i am sure losing a daughter is just as powerful. My cousin was 27 and engaged when he fell into a coma about a year ago. Doctors said they didn't think he would ever come back, but we all held together and prayed for him. THe mother and father, my aunt and uncle (and in indian families we are especially close, they were practically my parents as well) went through so much. He passed away a month ago and for his funeral, to see a father look at his son that way, to see him not be able to stand, to fall on his knees from weakness, a man who hasn't given in to anything in his entire life. to see a father truly heart broken in the sincerest form is sad. and i wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy. I can't say i know what buges is going through, and i hope i never can, but i can say i have seen what it does to families and especially fathers, and my thoughts are with him. Few strong families can survive this, and i am sure his will.
RIP Holly

I knew when he left the team that the prognosis couldn't have been good. He probably went to tell her goodbye and that he loved her.
I've said this before, and I will say it now, no parent should ever have to bury their child.
